I'm bending the 4" inch side, which should be a little easier.
    What's a whiskey bend?

So the entire thing is home made? Damn that's coming out great then.

This. But usually it's then welded since you are weakening it with the cuts.

Ok. I'll do the notch, the straight line cut and then bend it.

Once I get it bent at the correct angle, I'll ask @Sub-Zero to run a bead along the bend/cut.

    Thanks guys!

Subway is horrible at welding... until he gets his ass into the local community college welding class :)

Just do the cheap diy diff breather and use the stock breather cap. Youre nucking futs if you do anything more because youre spending more than you have to

ARB is a 2 way breather. The cheap way isn't..from what I gather. Plus, I was told this weekend that I need to have something on order at all times. So I gotta buy something.

That camry breather isn't a breather... its just a union... you reuse the breather... unless for
Some reason there is a different breather mod now...

When I did this I ordered the one from Toyota. The Camry one I believe. I thought that was always the way :notsure:

Just don't use the original breather either and leave it an open barb in a closed location. That's what I did.

this is my understanding but I don't know for sure:
Re using the stock one doesn't fix the problem. It's a one way valve so diff heats up, pressure goes out. Then it cools down and there is negative pressure inside. Air (or water) is then sucked in from the axle seals to equalize a pressure

Correct. That's what I read and it makes sense. So, $60 for ARB breather seemed to be a better solution.

I get all my wire off eBay. I have magnetic based angle finders from harbor freight that have always worked great. Make sure your welder has a good ground clamp. I've heard Lincoln machines sold at Home Depot come with cheaper parts than normal Machines, idk what you have or got or where you got it from but that's something I've heard from body shops that we work with. I know a lot of guys have welded a small bolt to vice grips and then nutted down a eyelet end they have on the ground cable to the vice grips to get the best possible ground. And I never built a welding cart, just got a single drawer cart from harbor freight and put the welder on top of it, has a drawer for wire brushes and cutters and the misc stuff and is big enough to leave the helmet and gloves on the bottom of it. Works great for me
