Unfortunately not all cops follow the laws. This happened when I was 17 @diabetik81 no tattoos then I was no more then 150lbs then. O and I'm not the only one that he hit. He knocked out a 14yr kid a couple years ago.

Trying to do the boot slide mod, i got the original clips off but i can't for the life of me get the boots to slide down at all, I thought maybe it was because there was a vacuum inside but i got the boot open a crack and it still won't budge, how'd you guys get these things to slide down? And I'm going about an inch down right?

Lol you got that right. As ERT we trained the CET team guys. We'd eff with by hosing a room down with OC and they'd run in and get a face full of surprise as we stood there used to it. We took a perverse pleasure in it. We'd tell them - you spray someone, even a direct hit short blast , you're gettin' some too so learn to work in it.

I never tried to do it while still on the truck, but you just need it down enough to get it out of the groove. Put some RTV on the shaft where the boot will go and clamp it. Typically when I do the boot slide mod I open the CV up and put a stopper in the old groove.

Mine slid super easy so I cannot help with stuck boots... maybe try a thin flad head screw driver or a straight scribe or "o-ring pick" as some call it. Just wedge it in and slowly go around the entire boot sealing surface as to break the seal

Ohh, we did decon fast enough not to matter apparently. It hadn't stopped hurting from the first go around.

Run, spray, shoot, fight, run, decon. Not fun.

Everything held up really well compared to when Tim did it....I think I hit it a little harder than him lol but my bumper wraps around and reinforces the cross member so that helped minimize the damage... I hit another rock really hard similar to that and actually cracked and bent my 3/16" reinforced ifs skid in the front
