    I went nuts today.

I cancelled my Hobart 140 MIG/Flux Core Welder and picked up a Hobart 210 MVP MIG/Flux Core for a few more bucks.

    Happy Father's Day to me!

It's Dual Voltage, so I have greater thickness capacity/range.

    3/8" @230v single pass
    1/4" @115v single pass

I looked at that and the Walther. I'll probably pick up the Walther. $300 and it uses actual HK parts and is licensed by them. Don't get why 22lr versions can be built for a few hundred bucks and a 9mm clone is a few thousand. I want to buy the Moore Advanced Dynamics HK-MP 5 clone but can't justify almost $4k.

    I'll second the auto-dimming hood.

I'm using a Miller hood, so far so good.

for supplies, check on google maps for 'welding supply' or 'welding gas supply' although your system doesn't need gas. From the price comparisons I've done, most stuff is cheaper local than on Amazon, but I always check. Amazon has a surprisingly good selection.

Thanks! I'll check the local welding gas supply. My system does use gas for MIG and gas-less for Flux Core. The Hobart has good flexibility in both the welding process and the voltage. I'm glad I chose this particular model.
