I always thought 4lo was nicer on the transmission (as long as you’re going slow) and especially on the torque converter as it’s able to lock up being in higher gears and not generate a ton of heat by rolling around at low rpms in hi.

I know my tranny temp gauge always runs much cooler when I’m crawling on the trail all day in 4lo vs 4hi

More rpms to do the same work means less shear of the hydraulic fluid at the pump from a lower pressure drop, or less resistance from the power train. Your engine is exhausting a lot more heat as the trade off.

Hmm....I usually don't take them off and I've never had a problem.....I thought it was the anaerobic environment that activated the curing process:notsure:

@stairgod @V5ioV I think you may be reading too much into this. Loctite is a glue that is in solution in the container. The carrier, which is probably alcohol or water or some other solvent evaporates. Heat accelerates the evaporation. Superglue is an acrylic that uses the moisture in the air to complete the molecular chains and gives off heat in the process. Model or airplane or plastic glues used to use toluene as the solvent; methyl-ethyl-ketone, and other ketones are no longer used except in heavily controlled environments where they burn off the evaporated solvents, and all of these actually dissolve the plastics to become liquids until they evaporate away. Acetone is still used as a solvent as the secondary compounds are far less toxic, and it is actually a naturally occurring molecule.
Aerobic processes require oxygen to complete. Anaerobic ones do not need oxygen.

Went to my family friends place to go and inspect the trailer further. Trailer is in great shape! Looks rough in the pics but its just surface rust. Turns out its actually an M116A2 trailer which weighs in at 740 lbs unloaded. I plan on trimming that weight down a bit more with some trimming of the front possibly to dove tail the front (forget the technical term for doving the front).

Also if youre buying a trailer don't ever register it in NJ again... Maine does out of state registrations for trailers and to register it for up to 12 years is only $260 for 12 years you have options 1-12 years. Pretty sweet. Trailer will have a plate in 6-8 weeks which isn't terrible. In the mean time Ill be bringing it back and forth from my place to Anthony's to clean up the paint and repaint it. Not sure what color to do

Hmm interesting, I've never heard that. Is it possible the heat or compression from torquing depletes the oxygen from the solution, which then forces the reaction? I've seen spilled loctite (any color) or red loctite that's gone poorly torqued just basically sit and do nothing vs. red loctite given proper torque which cures as expected, then holds substantially.

An automatic transmission is a hydraulic pump with the engine as the power source and the drivetrain as the load. Hydraulic fluid is a nearly incompressible liquid, meaning that it doesn't shrink when pressurized, and doesn't foam when depressurized. The rate of flow through the transmission is higher when using low range. Same load, more flow, less heat.

Yes. I have pre-employment testing and an interview with pse&g wednesday for a meter reader job :fingerscrossed:.
