    Damn spindle sheared off.

We drove 19 hours yesterday. Made it out here in two days. We were very happy about this.

    THEN

We went over to the dunes first. It was empty and dusty AF. Came down to Kens Lake. Much better by the way. Went to open the trailer up and the swingout was GONE! Had to go back to the Dunes and find it.

I ordered a new spindle, and my good friend / welding buddy @Sub-Zero is going to attempt to fix it for me at his buddies shop on Sunday.

How far back was the swingout? Hopefully you didn't have to go MILES back!

7 miles. I'm just glad it fell off on a "trail" and not on the interstate...

I have two theories. Either the swing out was just too big for that spindle, or the heat from welding weakened it. Probably a combination of both. The new spindle is larger and has a sleeve that is welded instead to keep the heat off the spindle.also will attempt to add a dual shear bracket to help with the load

Ever since the raptor came out I fell in love wit it. I know I could get a good trade in value on the tacoma it considering I only have 38k miles on it
