I was thinking about having my OEM sport rims powdercoated, but my guy wants $90/wheel. He does a nice job, but I'm not willing to spend that at this point.

Does anyone know someone good in NY/NJ that can be a little more competitive with pricing?

Thanks. Called and he wants $100/rim. I'm sure he does a great job and it's worth it, but I'm not sure I want to spend that right now. With that kind of money, I could just get used aftermarket rims.

I will look into spray bombing them.

LR UCA's arrived today. Now I just need to make a decision about the rest of the components....

Also, I had no idea they were located in CO. I've probably driven past them hundreds of times before.

take your time and be methodical... that's my best advice.

also be sure who you ask for help actually knows their shit. there are a ton of "parrots" online that just spout things others have said with no knowledge of it themselves.

Brutalguyracing is pretty much a pro with those so I would start with him.

I hear BGR is great with wiring too :D

For me it's down to the OME complete kit, or getting Icons all around with the Dakar leafs. I'm just looking for a modest 2-2.5" lift with a good ride on- and off-road (mostly on-road) that can soak up all the bumps from the bad roads and railroad crossings around here. I would love to get Kings but the $$$ is more than I want to spend. The only reason I'm even considering the Icon is because I like the idea of having adjustable height in the front and I can accept the modest price difference going with them versus the OME.

I was amazed actually.... last truck I rode in on Dakars was bump as heck. They also had OME rear shocks.

I will verify it was so cushy I fell asleep a couple times while Ant was bombing the trails :D

Prices just went up today or yesterday for them :(

Woot! Both leaking! Only one of my rears has puked at this point.

Yeah I was looking at your build thread a while back when I first started looking at the Icons w/ Dakars. How is the ride compared to stock, especially in the rear? Most of what I've read says it's about the same or slightly stiffer until you pick up some speed. I almost hate the way the stock rear rides, but I have the 3-leaf springs, so I really wanted to just upgrade to something beefier like the Dakars instead of doing an AAL. Looked at the All-Pro leafs but the lack of an overload spring scares me a little, and I don't want to lift my rear that much.

Also, it looks like most people have a uni-ball UCA on a mid-travel setup. Would the LR UCA be ok with extended travel coilovers or should I just stick to normal coilovers? Price would be the same either way so if I can get some more ability that would be great.
