Thanks man! Unfortunately I got family coming over today. Although this is supposed to be the one day a year I can do nothing, it seems as if though that's not going to happen today. (It's my birthday)

Think this is a different spot. Its probably a couple feet or less, this was the first time we went down this trail and it was all frozen solid so I have no idea.

You're talking about this spot right? Theres a rocky bypass to the right that a lot of guys did on the way back, we did the bypass last trip instead of the water. The iced over spot in that pic was way further down some unexplored area.

Is this the view from the top of the mountain/hill that you guys were working your way up when I stopped by for a bit? @HolyHandGrenade

Finished the footage testing out the snow chains yesterday morns..

First time mounting them was a little rough, but learned a lot real quick to make next time a lot easier. Very happy with the few hours spent messing around with them. They’ll be with me on all winter travels from here on out.

Thanks for the link Steve. It doesn't look like those can pull double duty between the 285/75R17's on the taco and the 35X12.5 I have on the jeep. I'll keep digging on that site tho, it looks like there are other options

Yup. We worked hard for that view

No winching or rock stacking (all rocks frozen to the ground.) Just trying different lines and when all else fails, the skinny pedal was put to good use.

This forum has done 4 things for me.

    1. Made me spend way too much money.
    2. Helped me enjoy my truck more than I ever thought possible.
    3. Makes me lose sleep thinking of the salt on my truck as it sits in the garage.
    4. Made me find some friends of like minds.

The trail on the back side of that hill that we went down on the way back seemed a lot easier if you just want the view, but who wants easy?

Finally put this thing in, was waiting until I found a garage...
everybody automatically assumes that fixing a truck = making a mess

I still don't think I got it seated in the diff enough honestly so I might have to tear down again soon and see if its seated properly.

I mean it looks like its in there but Im not sure I was rushing towards the end so I could get it out of my grandparents garage before the end of the night, I slammed the axle in pretty good with the weight of the spindle and then used a pry bar and hammer to get it a bit further in, but its got ever so slightly more of a gap between the diff and cv than the other side so idk

From my experience, if not seated all the way, you most likely see at least a slow diff fluid drip. Keep an eye on it.

Bragging about not making a mess is just jinxing yourself... you will have the biggest mess next time you work on your rig.... :p make sure to post it lol
