Do these systems really equalize the preasure as they inflate/deflate? I'm thinking common sense yea but not 1000% sure: anon:

Yes pressure always goes from an area of less to more. Naturally without mechanical interference of course. So if you have a tire at 12 and one at 15 and you Hook a Y type hose to it they will equalize and both inflate to whatever pressure you have at the Y

I agree, however wouldn't the length of the hose attached to each tire matter? Say you got 8 feet on the rear tire but 3 feet on the front tire before your Y fitting. It'll equalize when it's all attached but when you take the hoses off the longer hose will have more air in it. Naturally this would be a minimal amount of air and probably not enough to really change the PSI a whole lot. I'm just thinking thru it

I wouldn’t trust the pressure equality (if that’s a word). The twin compressor is so fast anyway.

 

In theory yes because the psi is the same but in that case the volumes are different. The volume of a few few of 5/8 or even 3/4 hose is negligible though

 

Drag racers have been doing it like this for ages. 1/2 a psi to either side is enough to send you in the Wall with a spooled rear

 

Right, the amount of air in that small a hose probably wouldn't change the PSI but 1 pound

 

You can it’s a totally legit science and @stairgod proved the twin compressor is actually faster filling two tyres. Just filling one is too restrictive and actually slows the twin compressor down

 

I've been wondering why I'm getting such shitty gas mpg. Checked tire pressure all 4 tires were down to 22psi. How no fucking clue no nails or anything
