    Hey guys, looking for advice.

I noticed my cv seals are leaking (both sides)

I topped off the front diff with about 7 pumps of gear oil. Is it ok to let them leak a little and fix it in a few months when it's warmer?

Yes. I would also say to filter some used diff oil to save a few bucks too. The aroma will be notable.

I had a leaky one after a off road trip and didn’t have time to get to it for a couple weeks. It wasn’t leaking bad enough to warrant topping off but just keep an eye on the fluid. Also buy 2 seals per side because it’s easy to mess up on install (damage it going in) and if not you got spares.

That's what I did for my spindle CV seals lol. Mine have been leaky for months I'm guessing. My red boots of my CVJ axles are black now haha

    Thanks for the advice!!

Keep in mind that the DS diff seal is a bitch to get. No one stocks them. Buy extra and keep on hand.

Is this the same seal that is an option with the ECG bushing?

Should you replace it anytime you pull the axle or is ok to reuse it?

Just wondering if I should order 1 or 2?

Here’s the almost finished Exhibit project

The 6 foot hex display rotates on bearings. The title/header top stays stationary. The bottom and middle rotates as one.

It’s a pretty darn good engineering feat for 5 high school sophomore girls.

As long as it’s not leaking no need to replace. Just careful when removing and reinstalling the axle not to bash it and you should be good. If the spring is good and seated in the seal then you’re all set. Pulled my axles numerous times not having changed the seals again.

Also if you ever get a leaky one after an off-road trip clean it out with a stream of water or something before you go replacing it. I once just had a rock or mud in one. Hit it with the hose and it stopped leaking next day.

It is the optional seal with the bushing.
Yes it is ok to leave in place after r/r the CV
    Order 2.

I carry four for each side with my spare parts and probably have at least that many in the garage.

You can never have enough. But I try to carry what I think I will need. Of course Murphy will more than likely make an ass out of me.

I'm waiting for Floyd to carry a spare engine, and hoist.
