I’ll get some pics later and upload a video I have of the swingout vibes I get. It has a vertical shake not horizontal...

I understand that, and I did take it under consideration. Aaand anything could always fail... like at any time - according to Murphy's Law
I was actually wondering about weight while stationary. And yes, even though it's static load, we're talking about 300 lbs on a single spindle! But then again I don't think it's made out of cheap Home Depot steel.

Edit. I'm not trying to argue, or rewrite physics, lol.

from what little reading I did, is for a strong swingout there needs to be a pad underneath to help "rest" the weight of the swingout on where it latches. I believe your swingout has that haha

Yes. But I also agree with Chux. While the spindle is definitly important, I believe that the latch location has a lot to do with it being secure along with making sure the latch is up to the task of holding everything in place.

    You’ll need two spindles.

@HolyHandGrenade knows a great two for one deal

New to me for the low price if dragging it out of a basement. So custom bushings for pivots will be within my ability to make. :)

That lathe must’ve been a pain in the ass to move up a set of stairs. Awesome machine though!
