I probably should have argued more on the price too. The 2009 model cars were already out for months. The 2009 model trucks didn't came out shortly after I bought mine.

 

me too.. They took 3500 off list price and told me I'd be at 2%, ends up they changed it up to 4.99% and I didnt catch it in time.. Oh well lesson learned, gotta make sure you read over everything before signing the paperwork.

I was originally trying to buy an used 2007 with 15,000 miles. It was advertised as a certified pre owned for $27,000. Once they started putting numbers together it came to $31,000.00 claiming the price difference was to certify it and they could only sell it as a certified pre own and they wouldn't move on the price. 2 weeks later I end up leaving that same dealership with a brand new 2010 for $28,300.00 out the door with tax, which it was originally listed for $32,000. In the middle of all that they tried to back out of the deal when I showed up to pick up the truck with a check in full from my bank. The salesman claimed they couldn't do that deal because I didn't finance through them, but the finance manager was more then happy to except the check.

 

Accept* and yup almost cheaper to buy new than used.

Good tip if you plan on paying off a vehicle in full is to agree to financing, the worse the better too so you can get a better deal on the price and they think they are making it up in financing. Then pay it off right away after the deal is done. Just make sure there's no penalties for paying early.

 

I ended up financing through my Credit Union. What I had to do was they put the buyers order together, I gave them a check for a deposit. I then took the buyers order to my Credit Union and they had a check for me the next day for the price that was on the buyers order. In the end the salesman wasn't happy because he thought I was financing through Toyota. The finance manager didn't seem to care, he said as long as I had a check for the price agreed he would do the deal. But you're right.

 

I knew my truck was going to be a bitch to get, plus its hard to negotiate on a truck thats not even on their inventory… I told them I wanted payments @ 280x60 months and $16k down… title, registration, interest, and taxes all worked in those #s…. they agreed and also got mine with 0 miles on the odo…
as of now the deal is for $32,800
im at 2.64% interest but im not paying the 280, instead Im paying $300 about every 20 days in hopes to still beat some of the interest down...

 

When is the lift going on?

Im going to have to call out of work! But on a good note! the one thing i did not want to deal with was the brake lines, and those are being done as I type this!

lol I paid $1000 down, list price was $32,500. , purchase price was 29,500. paid $1000/month to pay it off in half the time.

… i will not discuss costs of modifications… because i don't want to know.
