This is why it sucks to ask for an opinion on this thread.

Successful test of custom easy radiator washer outer thingy.
Loosen radiator shroud, shove behind radiator, watch the crud and mud come out.

    @Subway4X4

FWIW my mother in law is the director of IT for a local school district. She is partial to the Chromebooks. My daughter has one for school and it’s pretty indestructible. That’s says a lot for a 13yr old who beats on technology.

    Just my $.02

Love the Chromebook. Costco has a few of them that look like great deals. I’m going to go check them out tomorrow.

I’m far from a computer expert, but I bought a MacBook Pro in 2008 when I was in college. It was my first apple product besides an iPod. I found it extremely easy to use (which I feel the opposite for windows based systems).

I still have that computer and it’s my wife’s and my only computer. It gets used everyday. It has never had any kind of virus or virus protection programs, or ever needed to go to a computer repair person or Apple store. I upgraded the ram and memory a couple years ago because it was getting slow and it’s like new again.

My windows computer experience has always been shitty. I bought a brand new dell senior year of HS and that lasted less than 3 years, spent hundreds on virus protection and computer repair people.

I bought my dad a laptop a few years ago and similarly to my Dell, only lasted a few years. Also spent hundreds on virus protection and repair guys.

I bought my dad a new laptop for this past Christmas and it has windows 10, and neither one of us can figure out how to use it. I just finally figured out how to get rid of a password protected log in screen every time you turn it on.

All that being said, I love my 10 year old Macbook pro and will replace it with another MacBook when it eventually dies.

And if you made it this far down this post, congrats!

    Good stuff!

We went to the Apple Store last night and are looking hard at the MacBook Pro.

But we’ll look at others before making a final
    decision.

But as you mentioned, all my windows based laptops have had many issues. Mainly virus protection problems.

    Thanks!

I've been a religious PC user since I was a kid. Always were cheaper and more accessible. Only recently switched over to a Macbook Pro because it's on the companies dime and I do love it. That being said, for a teenage girl, a chromebook is a safer and less expensive route to go. Get the Macbook as a graduation present. :p

it's actually crazy how much crap the radiator can hold, I just sprayed mine out until clear water was the only thing running out onto the ground

    this is a great idea!

Hard to get to all the spots though unless you remove the fan and shroud completely. This thing hits every spot. I actually had water coming out of the grill a few times. And that means it went through rad, condenser and radiator for supercharger.

What is she going to school for? And what will she use the computer for? I bought my MacBook in 2010 for college and installed Windows 7 on it for engineering specific programs. When windows 7 crashes, I just delete it and re install it but I can still run iOS during that time. Also never had a problem with the MacBook except I had a battery freeze and bulge. Replaced it with a new one and the thing is still trucking
