Credit card dispute. That’s it. Truck is garage kept anyway so I didn’t bother to do anything else with it.

It took three trips to the tire shop tonight...

But I just did 80MPH on Route 17 shake free. Looks like you own a set of scraped up abused Level 8s Joel

Yeah, that’s the tuner that I went with.

And yes, stock ECU is no bueno with the supercharger. I also was not 100% that it was the UCON until the replacement took care of the cyl #2 misfire.

There was fuel running out of the tailpipe. Towing it home was the only sensible option.

    OK. Need an opinion here.

I'm gonna try to fix my #5 cylinder misfire with new plugs and a new Ignition coil.

It easy and cheap to replace all 6 spark plugs.

But what about the ignition coils? Since the truck is 14 years old, should I just go ahead and replace all 6 coils and be done with it?

Are the other five current coils due to fail due to age?

The best deal I could find for OEM Denso coils is at Advance Autoparts. With a 25% coupon code, the price is $47 each.

    @loosnut @HolyHandGrenade @Wheelspinner @stairgod and others, please chime in.

    Yep.
Don't worry about replacing all of them, they're not a preventative maintenance part and failures are very rare. The majority of those failures are due to water intrusion.

Had a coil go bad on my 05 around 120k, it happened after an engine detail.... aka water.

Yea I’d do all the plugs and replace the coil in question. Have you tried switching that coil with one from another cylinder to see if the problem follows it?

We use a combustion leak detector to check this.

    https://www.amazon.com/Block-Tester...1-spons&keywords=combustion+leak+tester&psc=1

You remove your rad cap and put this guy there. Then run the engine and pump the bulb a few times. If there are exhaust gasses passing through the head gasket into the coolant system, the fluid will change color.

Right. If you’re feeling ambitious. Put the plug, coil, and injector in different cylinders on the other side of the engine. You’ll know what your problem is by which cylinder the misfire moves to.

I would replace the bad one and carry a spare.

    Double this.......
If you just replace plugs and coil you are not sure where the problem is/was.

Exactly. And if you move the coil and the problem is still #5 then you know you need to dig deeper. (Both into the engine and your pocket) I’m willing to wager it’s the coil though.

Ok. That’s what I’ll do. Plus it’ll save me $250 in coils.

My plan is change all the plugs and switch #5 to another cylinder. And see how that goes.

I bought a big tube of Die-electric grease as well to help deal with water issues. Any recommendations on how/where to apply this stuff?

Thanks guys for all the input. All this shit is new to me, except changing spark plugs at 100k miles.

Change just the coil to another cylinder B4 changing plugs. That way you know its the coil and not one of the plugs.
