Do you mean the EJ257?

Subaru replaced most of the engines with the FB and FA series engines. FB for the beige models, FA for the bwoppers. All except for the EJ257 in the USDM WRX STi. It was never as good as the EJ207, but the US likes displacement, so we never got that heavenly goodness.

 

Not Subaru related but if you Subbies you'd like the last episode of the grand tour on Amazon. Check it out..they do a whole segment on the Sierra RS Cosworth..

 

My FRS has the FA20. Somewhat underpowered but I like it.

EJ25 on the '19 STi is pushing the most power it ever did. And isnt the RA that's available here in the States the same as in the STI but just tuned different and pushing less weight by adding CF parts like a CF roof?

Okay, don’t get me started on the RA nomenclature. Makes me so mad. The RA was intended for rally homologation. Therefore, they were stripped down cars built for race car purposes. No radios, no AC, steel wheels, crappy seats, etc. BUT, aggressive RA gearsets with the 4.44 final drive. You buy the car, put in a cage, race seat, rally wheels and tires. Then go to town. Not this stupid overpriced piece of caca we get here.

Not new, That's what it "originally" meant..

I’m just stating that they are using that name to create hype and sell a bloated, overpriced, blah version of the car. In the past, when you say RA, you know it’s fast and you know it’s for race (no creature comforts). Now, when you hear RA, you know someone got ripped off for something that’s just like everything else.
