If you get the pre-assembled coils/strut assembly just bring it to my place we could have it installed in a half day. That is, if you're truck ain't a rusted clapped out shitbox yet from the salt belt LOL.

Ideas? Can a machine shop or something deal with this.

Ive tried that method several times with other bolts, never works in my favor lol, but Ive got a cheesy HF welder. I guess ill preheat it and give that a shot tomorrow. And yea its a broken bleeder

I’d try that or worst case scenario drill it out at the minor diameter and pick the rest of the threads out, re-tap, call it good.

Bleeder screw shouldn’t be too bad as it has a hole so it will self-center.

pre-heat and use a quality grade 8 nut. Make sure to impact it off while it's still hot.

Make sure to lube it up when you're done

Wow, that's really nice of you, I could definitely provide beer! No, luckily there is not much rust under there. I do my best to keep it clean, even being in the shit hole salt belt LOL, I cringe when I have to drive in that shit. I'm just doing a bit of research, trying to figure out my best bang for my buck on a budget build. I am thinking about the below, only thing I am unsure on is to go with the 885 or 887 coils.

That's what I have. Over 60k on it and still rides nice. Leafs are squeaky as shit though.

This def. isn't the rust belt. I was in Rochester last week. Every single vehicle there had some form of rust on it. I've never seen anything like it.

That's good to know, thank you. Oh man I had that issue on my '09, it drove me crazy until I started turning the radio louder :bananadead:.

Yikes, it's absolutely terrible how some of these vehicles get rusted out...

Did you go with the 885 or 887s? I am assuming you used the factory overload leaf?

885's w/ factory overload. I don't know the difference between the 885's and 887's I know the 3rd gen is a little higher stock so if the 887's are taller you may want to go that route. But research that because I don't know what I'm talking about.

Just upgraded my awning (again) if anyone is interested in an ARB 2000 awning with ARB brackets. $200 for all.

Gotcha, thank you. I believe they sit 1” taller then 2nd gen. The headstrong offroad site says the 885s give you 1.5” and the 887 give you 2”. But when they said if you go the 2” route you may need to look into new UCAs. This is exactly what they said, “The general rule of thumb on aftermarket UCA’s is the closer you get to 2.5” of lift the more necessary UCAs become in order to get your truck back into alignment”. I’m not really sure if I wanted to replace UCAs now, but I’m not to knowledgeable with suspension. Maybe someone on here knows if it’s ok to go 2” without aftermarket UCAs?

    Good idea, thank you.

Thanks guys, I was under the same impression, maybe they are just throwing it out there in case. I think I may just go with the 887s then.
