    Hey Chux
So I reserved a actual camp spot at Gifford Woods state park, just a few min away from kilingtion. It’s the off season so it’s free you just have to confirm your spot but the gate is closed so no driving to the actual tent site. We knew that before just booked it just in case if we got kicked.
But we have a friend that works at kilingtion and he said in the pre season it’s ok to camp in the parking lot. We parked 2 row back from K1 gondola.
It was windy as shit but we were warm the whole night with 0 degree mummy bags. Only complaint was I dont have window curtains so all the cat lights were constant shining in. We tried to keep it low key and no one bothered us.
The parking lot attendee came up to us the next morning (was waiting for us to get bitched at) and have us a tip for the full season just to park lower in the lot and we’ll be fine. Lol

About 6 miles down on 100 that that state park is on is upper michigan road that has free campsites you can just pull into and camp. We camped there pretty recently super nice in the middle of the woods there are campsites on the river and some nice huge open ones in the trees, I'd recommend there if you do it again

Yeah I Deff plan on doing it again. Lmk if you guys ride anywhere. I pretty much have a pass to every mountain on the east coast. I took a hefty spill Wednesday at kiligtion and hope I didnt do any serious damage to my hip. I’m still limping.

Oof that’s rough. Pretty sure @JLink has that pass too.

Last time I rode was Breckenridge in Colorado like 6-7 years ago
    Before that was local jibbing.
I’d love to actually dust everything off and get out cruz some pow.
Also rails > booters change my mind

Your right. Pretty common to most forestry roads in winter.
Not sure why advise someone to camp somewhere closed..

    what pass do you have?

If you have killington then we don’t have the same pass. Last year I did ikon, before that it was called the max pass. This year we have the epic pass. Locally we get hunter, Stowe, okemo, and a few others. It almost pays for itself after a week out west though. Probably going to Colorado this year, but I’m keeping a close eye on Lake Tahoe before we book flights.

I tried to camp on upper Michigan road last winter. Didn’t find a gate, but they did build a snow berm to deter people from driving on it. I checked it out anyways but there was no way I was camping there. Anywhere you could pull off would have been in feet of snow and I had no recovery gear with me.
