Farming is a way cooler hobby than offroading anyway, anyone that wants to argue that can suck it.

Follow-up question: were the up-turned nails "legally" placed there? Obviously, I don't advocate for abuse of public lands, but destruction of private property isn't the best response if that's the case.

Easy solution, don’t trespass. First thing first there’s no such thing as public land in the state of New Jersey, it’s either private or owned by the state, and 95% of the state land is closed to any kind of motor vehicle use. Second are these pictures even real. More often than not shit like this is staged by locals of the area to try and keep every tom dick and Harry from going there.

    I’ll play.

Question. What if the land owner put them there to deter people from going on his land. Your pointing a finger similar to someone putting graffiti on a wall. If that’s the case and someone graffitis their own wall nothing wrong with it.

Also nothing in Jersey is free. No public lands.

And I think the pics are fake news

this. Only one nail in the tire and it just so happened to go through a side lug and not actually through the tire. What are the odds. Also unless you rid like a complete bitch you would be Atleast a half a mile away before you realized something was wrong with your tires, *in my experience nails cause a slow leak, your milage may vary* and by that point how would you know were to look for the nails, let alone find a bunch of them after roosting through there

Whether it's real or not, just wanted to post it up and share. I saw this actually got reposted in a couple other groups on FB too. One guy commented how he saw piano wire across the trail up at the water gap last year. Just stay safe out there and try and keep your eyes peeled, too many a-holes out there.

And if it is someone's private property, I guess I could see this being the case and laying out traps, but just put up a fence or something... After all, we do live in NJ and I'm sure a land owner would still face some legal recourse if someone was maimed or killed on their land (especially from trapping) even if they were trespassing.

I'm not pointing any fingers. I just moved here from a state where BLM land is a thing. I'm used to public lands, so understand the lens through which I see this.

I'm totally seeing this with an upturned eyebrow now.

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll be making a push outta this state at some point. Would love a state with public lands/national Forrest
