Nothing wrong with crashing out in the vehicle... like DB said, as long as it's not being started every hour. Not to mention the one time you fall back asleep only to wake up cold AND out of gas

 

I usually just fall asleep in my camp chair regardless of the temp. Was 27* this weekend and I was snug as a bug in a rug next to the fire

I'm wrapped in a quilt right now. Screw heat.

 

I got my wood stove at a slow burn. My thermostat says its 77°
Nothing better than free heat!

I wish I had a wood stove. One day ill put one in the basement...one day. I'd love a nice allnighter like I grew up with.

Last year I spent something like $200 on heat, but I kept my house cold. So cold south Jersey gas wants to inspect my meter. Had a letter on my door last week.

I want a wood burning stove, that is all we had when I was growing up. My Mom still has the stove in her house but now it has a gas log in it.

I grew up on kerosene heat and wood burners. I can def live without kerosene. But I love my wood burner. I got the stove and triple-wall 8" for about $750. I installed it my self in about the center of my house.
My gas furnace almost never kicks on. It maybe runs 15-20 hours a year.

I get all my wood for free. I usually get a firewood permit which allows for 2 cord/year and the rest is road side or road widening cuts.

I wish I had a basement. I'd have the ultimate heat set up using floor registers. But too close to the bay for a basement

My dad used to put kero heaters at the bottom of our steps that lead to the bedrooms. Amazed we are alive.

 

I've got a Vermont Castings woodburning stove sitting under a bench in my shop... It's awesome but I do not know that the hell to do with it.

They would turn the ceilings black.... Your right, amazing to live through a winter with them. I remember we had 2-3 of them. One outside my room. Christ!

I'm sure it would sell on CL in 20 minutes. That is if you don't use it
