was it your choice to throw oem suspension back in or did they ask you too?

wondering what would happen in the event of having a shackle flip

The tech inspected my brother in laws truck before seeing the pictures of mine. He gave him a hard time about having bumpers, skids, sliders and said he’ll charge labor for anything aftermarket.
Rather than take the chance of being charged, or of having my shit fucked up, I decided to just swap it all out.
I was in the shackle flip category except that I had since swapped to archive garage hammer hangers. But the tech unbolted the hammer hangers and frame brace and tossed it in the truck.

I absolutely understand the bumpers and shit,Easy enough to take off. Thanks for the insight. After my fall trips I’m gonna get after my frame with a 20lb sledge and see for myself lmfao. If the Tacoma gods bless me I’ll just plunge cut the sliders off and weld a quick plate on the frame and get some junkyard hangers and weld them on too. Thanks for clearing up what they are after,it helped me form a plan. Come a long way in my interest in this stuff since buying your softopper simply to sleep under to hike lmao. Chux put his old man weiner in my head and pulled the trigger.

haha yea it’s easy to get sucked into. I’ll try to save the hangers that came on my new frame incase you need them. Gonna be nice to have no bed in the way when I remove them.

I have some gross stock wheels that I won’t need after my brother in law gets a new frame in a couple weeks.

I thought those wheels were the new NJBS SWR meter and would be passed around for whoever is setup for frame recalls :D

I’m waiting for the scene when you show up to camp late and try to set up in a rush, in my mind it will end up like this

    So nice frame it twice.
After building an exact 4’ wide frame for the camp trailer with 1.5” framed side walls and finding out a quad I’m looking at for the property is 48” I won’t be able to load the quad in the trailer by 3”… So running some 1.5” square tube sister rails on the frame to make up the 3” needed. Glad I caught it now. Not a bad impromptu move, the side walls will now be built off the added frame rails
