Same deal as the beaches mentioned above just not in the summer season..

I live a few miles from IBSP. There all year. It’s a different animal now than it use to be. If your looking to get a pass next year, follow the IBSP FB (cry) page and be on the lookout for the pass release date. This year they did the first ever online sales and sold out in a few weeks. Apparently they’re opening like 500 MVSF in October to allow people who missed the season pass a chance to fish or just rake in more money. That should be in time to earn some stripes on the beach..

Thanks for the heads up. Did not realize those beaches offered being able to drive up on them in the offseason. I’ll check that out as well

Finished this dual pivot hitch I thought up..
    Worth the stitches..
It’s amazing how well the trailer tracks behind the quad. Also reverse I thought would be super squirrely but it’s better than a jet ski trailer! Both are contributed to the 4x trailer wheels. Just walking the trailer forward and turning it you can feel the tire resistance like any dual axle trailer but having the pivot point a little a little further off from a standard hitch gives the trailer a more curved pattern to follow instead of dragging/yanking it on tight turns. Reverse the same. The 4x wheels in reverse add good resistance for such a small trailer, it doesn’t jack knife every few feet it just wants to be pushed rather straight in the direction it’s facing. Overall fun build and great to see things actually work coming from a “this should work” ideas..

That eastwood sander makes easy work of the smooth curves huh? Still need to pick me up one.

Yea for sure. A bench sander is great for round over work, also deburring and beveling.
I use it for wood working too. Could use some new grit paper but did the job nicely on the square toobing

Def. different this year. I haven't been since May and there was already people stuck up and down the beach. I tried to head out for night fishing Sat night and they closed the beach because of the "ultra high tide" which never happened. I stayed away from it all summer. I say I won't get a pass next year, but I will. Although it's becoming way less worth it year after year.

There will always be people stuck. Getting stuck doesn’t mean you suck. I get stuck. It’s the being able to self recover/get unstuck that should be looked at.. I always check out the situation as I’m about to drive by someone stuck and see if they’re a kook and are clueless, I’ll leave them stuck. If they look like good people I’ll stop and help. One of my favorites was an old suburban sunk to the frame. Pulled up and it was 4 old ladies laughing their ass off. Asked if they need a hand, and the driver said “yea this is my husbands truck, we took it for a girls day”. Mind you these four ladies were in there 60s having the time of their life. I dug out the tires, layed some trax, and told them when you start going don’t stop! They took off hootin and hollering as they went down the beach. Amazing moment in time.
The online sales were the worst thing they ever did. Let alone I think it’s IBSP’s demise for them to have a social media page. The comments are just a dumpster fire. It draws a lot of attention to the park with people tagging and sharing, it will forever be more and more crowded every year and never again be what it use to be. This is mostly why I love escaping to the mountains now..

Saw this last week. Watched the dodge yank this guy in a 90° degree fashion. After three times they looked like they were gonna relook at the recovery. Ranger just sitting in his truck eating popcorn. I drove off shaking my head at the no thinking, no prep, let’s just yank on it failed attempt. They didn’t even dig out the tires. I did consider winching them cuz that would be the move for that situation with the beach so tight in that spot, best to pull him forward not sideways lol.. but my kids were fussing and had to get them home.

Last part definitely solidifies my plan to have the proper recovery gear/points on my truck before buying any passes. Waiting on back surgery next month so I don’t think I’ll make it out until the spring either way.

Haha more or less it did. We still have smittybuilt stuff in stock which is actually selling well. The speed / off road shop in toms river does decent volume but for the most part yes, it's fucked up. I try to focus more on hard parts now. My whole goal was to get trinkets in the buildings and when people break tie rods, u joints, ball joints, etc they see we have moog and come buy it there. But yeah..covid.

Yeah, I agree. To your point there's stuck and there's dumb. I yanked out a 2500 GMC earlier this year. There was a lifted ZJ trying to get him out but they went about it all wrong. I yanked him out in one easy pull. It's annoying when you are driving up the beach and you chip a toof because you just drove through a rut where someone was spinning their tires in the same spot for 20 mins before they realize they're resting on the belly.

At the OBX in North Carolina, I saw a Jeep Renegade buried to the frame in sugar sand and a FWD sedan buried in the same sugar sand on a different day

Hey guys. I installed a JFR Y-pipe a while back and have a URD 4x4 Competition Y-pipe laying around.

Re-Cerakoted it since the first finish I applied was pitted. It was installed for about 2.5 years.
Mixed silver and black to mimic the URD LT headers, but it’s looks noticeably better as a result; more metallic effect.

Looking to see if anyone local is interested. $400 near Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean areas NJ.

I forget now who I was discussing my Pelfrey 31 group battery tray sale with before I left for Afghanistan, still have that available too. With holidays and pre deployment business we couldn’t find time to meet.DA15CFD0-F776-44E3-A0FF-E91E044B8628.jpgC52C3A82-B103-4D0B-A9BE-BE62BB329E8D.jpg

On facebook there is a group NJ/NY Metro Jeep Owners that hit trails in north NJ and south NY, pretty much Ramapo MTS. A lot of people still hit Stag Hill, didn't hear about any heavy patrolling tho.

Recovery is interesting to me. I like to figure it out and succeed in becoming unstuck.
Not all think about it, more or less when in doubt throttle out..

Is that a driveway in front of him off to the left of driver side? Hard to make out if he was coming or going and did the tractor help or no, what was the outcome? You turn around and take a detour?

Yeah I think he made the turn a bit too tight, hard to tell. They were like that when I got there and the tractor wasn’t doing shit lol. I ended up waiting for a few minutes then with no progress being made I turned around. For all I know they might still be there trying to get unstuck haha
