yea separating the HWS area from the rest of jersey would be a more than fair way to split up the state. It really is completely different from the rest

 

I would have just said I live not far from the train diner off 78. That's the only way I've been able to successfully describe that area.

Lived in Oxford for 6 years prior to December 2021. Loved it up there. Driving rt46, rt80, rt31... all mostly very nice roads to drive. Water Gap wasn't far, 15-20 minutes I think. Loved that commute.

I almost bought a house in Belvidere a few months back. Deep in Belvidere by Buckhorn drive

 

Lived a 5 minute drive from them. I'm still not far. It's a worthwhile drive up there.

 

The county roads are even nicer.. 519, 521 etc.

Edit: Scenic wise. Being stuck behind a school bus or garbage truck or farm tractor ain't cool at all up there....

My buddy and I like to go drive through the DWG, some light trails in there I'm sure you are all aware of.

There are homes up there. Unfortunately they are going for loads of coin right now

Been there as well. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Dining experience was a bit different to what I'm used to, all those little rooms. Actually really liked it.

 

Ambiance isn’t its thing But the steaks and whiskey pours are superb!

I miss those riding roads. Spent my teenage years cruising warren/Sussex roads doing dumb shit with my friends.

Friday night was nice right before the storm, lows mid 30s..
Woke up and went to Stratton to ride for the day. Snowed all day and the temps plummeted with winds picking up. Riding all day in the snow storm we get back to camp with temps in the 20s falling to the teens after dark. I started making chili and EVERYTHING was freezing. Food, beers, even my propane bottle and burner was not acting right.. The cold was half the battle, forecast was for 40mph gusts but felt like 40mph sustained on top the mountain. My ez up took off up over the truck and anything that’s wasn’t solid like body panels on the truck were violently flapping in the wind. Additionally we got 8” or so of snowfall throughout the day. Props to the boys that stayed! It’s now my coldest and gnarliest camp experience ever.
