Yup, and that's where the multi day adventures in VA/MA/VT/NH kinda give you that feeling of "trail accomplishment" you can get out west on one trail, here on the East Coast. The enjoyment of beating the piss out of the rig, living in it, and having to rely on yourself and your buddies to get out of the woods in a no service zone and back home safely hundreds or thousands of miles away is what really makes it feel like a true adventure.

In Hackettstown myself. Buddy and I are looking for some light stuff we can go on. 21 T4r, and my 22TRD Sport. Any suggestions where legality isn't questionable? Lol

damn. A bunch of people in the area. I’m always down to go out for a few hours locally. I only have one spot here but it’s not very paint friendly.

I only remember the canals in Jefferson. Grew up there.

I'm not there quite yet... only 3k miles yet. Lol

I do not doubt it. We aren't allowed to have too much fun here.

We are. I need camping gear for my truck since I don't have any, and have never camped before. He will sleep in Hotel 4Runner... I actually need to buy stuff... lol

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm a little surprised I don't see more Tacomas running around here. If I doo, it's on Tuesdays oddly enough.

I’m not far towards Musonetcong. Teetertown Ravine has one road that’s technically passable and while not too challenging it is exhilarating. Also have some sneaky farmers trails towards Califon and Tewksbury.

Oh? Those sound like fun. Most I get right now is taking Waterloo valley road. It's blow out. Not a challenge by any means, just a little diversion for my ride home from work. We have gone up and explored the Delaware Water Gap also.. some cool hunting roads there. Problem is they are gated off often.

    Anything close in PA?

honestly for a day on some green trails at rausch just hit up the local hotel right down the road

dont let the investment of camping gear hold you back

sometimes you just gotta pack your cab with pillows and blankets from home, its free and cheap!

you start accumulating the dedicated pieces along the way

Did not know there was a hotel... it's a good idea though. I'd really like to do this. I didn't just buy this truck to commute with.. if I did somebody shoot me. Lol

My truck is pretty much stock. I'd go if it was easier trails it's not getting scratched up on. Planning on selling next spring for a car, not banging it up now.

Well, I need a truck, just not one as nice as this after I buy a new DD car. Only 118k miles on it, new frame, very good condition. I'll replace it with a cheap beater home depot runs etc truck.

    Ton of trails by you.

You guys from Denville and Rockaway remind me of Splitrock and there was a spot in Denville with a mud hole at the base of the powerlines, guys trailered in monster mud trucks, mid 80's. Used to be a Poor Henry's on Eagle Rock Ave in Roseland, take the trail behind Poor Henry's, go under RT280 and you were in the Caldwell swamp.

I wheeled splitrock years ago.and I was one of those Poor Henry’s guys in the mid 80’s too. I grew up in East Hanover. Poor Henry’s and the swamps were my stomping grounds. There and swamps in Florham Park and Madison along the Passaic river before rt24 existed. Really wasn’t anything I wouldn’t point that truck at and stomp the pedal. Such good times with that truck and friends. Such good memories.
