Completed military service and started a business in nj

 

I wonder how PA is going to handle non-residents from NJ who apply. I know when NY CCW holders apply, some PA sheriffs flatly refuse, some require you to have an "unrestricted", and others will accept those with "sportsman restrictions" (i.e. hunting, fishing, hiking, target shooting).

 

If I'd had to speculate, I'd say that non residents have a chance of faster processing dealing with NJSP.
My latest firearm related inquiry was with the NJSP as my town do all firearm related inquiries thru the Hope Barracks instead of the township police (blairstown) and I was impressed on how fast they handled my applications (not ccw).

I do know people who have gotten their ccw in Emerson, NJ rather quick.

 

From what I know, PA will issue to any out state as long as they have a ccw on their home state. So as NJ/NY residents get their ccw, they can qualify for out state PA CCW.

 

You need the NJ one 1st, then you are good to go for a non residents PA permit

It definitely varies by county and by what your CCW "says" (at least for NY CCW licenses). Lackawanna used to issue, but only if you had an unrestricted and that's where my wife and I went for ours. Post COVID they were not issuing to anyone except county residents. I had to renew my PA back in February and ended up driving to Tunkhannock in Wyoming because there sheriff's office did them still. Sent in my paperwork and a couple of weeks later I got the phone call to come get my picture taken and pick up my license. Maybe things have changed since then so it's definitely worth looking around. NY Gun Forum has a lot of info on it and might have useful info for NJ folks as well.

correct. im waiting for them to decide we can carry in the truck first before I get my Nj ccw

PA still does it that way. usually easy.

still a legal case... I use a "gun sock" its a sown up sleeve... stock sticks out the back... hunt daily gun in truck daily no issues in 12 years now

 

Since when does NJ actually issue CCW’s? I was always under the impression it was practically impossible to get a CCW unless you are a LEO.

Remember that story years ago of the PA woman who accidentally ventured across the NJ border, got pulled over, identified her firearm, then got arrested and convicted for illegal firearm possession? (Probably more than one occurrence of this)

Gun sock and sweatshirt or blanket are not the same thing.

 

Back in 1999 when I went for my hunter education class they said that as long as it was unloaded and not easily accessible a shotgun wrapped in a blanket or towel was fine. A quick look on the google machine in 2022 says this

can anybody recommend a quality shop that can do diff service and repair work? the two ive called said they don't like to work with aftermarket gears as they're loud. im I Jefferson
