7 years of driving on that suspension. 7 years and only 1 of the eccentric bolts was siezed into the bushing.

Ok I may be the worst Tacoma mechanic ever. I dropped the skid today and I think I never fully torqued the front differential mounting bolts fully. Possible dumb move on my part.

Ouch. From Alaska to Middlesex, NJ. I need to get my LX on the trails soon. I'd be happy to take you out or get a small group together w/ some Land Rovers and such.

When I dropped my front diff I don't think I torqued it. I'm pretty sure I just gave it 3 grunts and called it good

Those look like the regular steel version of that bearing guessing by looks. FK makes a stainless version that might get you some more time between replacements
I think its WSSX 16T maybe 12t - i don't remember exactly off the top of my head

    Good observation!
Those bearings came in a kit I bought online from… I can’t remember the place, but they sell rebuilt kits for some shocks.
This time around I used King SS bearings I got from Summit a little while back. Still have a couple of FKs left, maybe for rear shocks (whenever I’ll get around to it)

I’ve stitch welded mine back together a few times. My headlight support and inner fender all cracked too.

Anybody have any tips for lifting a cap off my truck? I was thinking about just lifting it off using the Yakima rack/cross bars it has

The edges are sharper than they seem and annoying to hold so have the spot you're putting it as ready as can be. Easier to find something to hang it from, drive out from under it, then store it. Easy enough to hang it from the ceiling right in the spot you park it if you've got a garage. Also if it's got any kind of seal to the bed don't expect it to be as plug and play as you're thinking to get it sealed well again with the same material - not impossible just curb your expectations lol
Simple two person job to just lift it off
