Front and rear?

 

I know all about public posting. a simple pm would do. I do a monthly tristate drive for subarus and sometimes people ask the route. if you wanna know, you must attend the drive. i know offroading is different cause well, its offroad. and im not about to drive 3+ hrs down south jersey when we have plenty of woods in north west nj. but id prefer to hit trails with someone rather than alone to be safe. either way, its worth a shot to find some locals by me that want to hit some trails.

 

Just the rear for now. The front I am going try to do this summer.

Remote resi? What was the price difference between icons and kings? Or fox? I thought they'd all be around the same

Rear is more important anyway. I did mine backwards. Live and learn.

From what I saw this weekend from Chris's truck (pAP) - stay far away from Fox. His looked like 20 year old dog shit - just like MJP2's. Chris got his Fox around the same time I got my Kings and my kings look brand new still....granted I didn't drive it last winter but mine are still almost 5 years old. Both of their fox's look like they were under sea water for 20 years. Rust everywhere on the shock body and coils also looked like POOP.

 

Ask for Micah.... good guy..... and make sure u let them know what LP you have as they may have to be build with a longer eyelet....

 

Fox/icon are about the same price. Kings are $100-500 more expensive depending on your options

Icon and Fox are the same price the Kings are the most expensive being about $200 more. I was going to go with the none resi because it seems the only benefit is to keep the oil cooler and prevent the shocks from fading which hear in NJ we are not doing much dessert racing. The only benefit I really only found was the resies is you're cycle the shock oil little more so it will last longer.

 

Just make sure the ones you get can be rebuilt. I got my fronts with resi so they would last longer. Rears Ill probably do the same and go with King resi....when I hit the lotto

 

I've been doing a lot of reading the past few days and it the appears to be the biggest problem with the Fox shock is the rust.

 

or in Corey's instance didn't he loose the resi?

The only reason I picked King as my shock is because of the lack of issues they have. Cost may be more initially but in the end it all comes back around. Since Ive gotten mine Ive seen more then 2 Icons go boom and one Fox. Still haven't seen a failed King in person....ever.

 

Mine have zero and I'm gonna try not to drive this winter.

My resi hose blew off but the bottom seal on the resi is also gone.. oh well will ve getting sent off tomorrow to be fixed..

Saved $1000 when I bought my suspension but seems like now I should have just bought new

 

King looks like they put out a good product and is probably has the best rating. Icon looks like a good product but I have read about some issues. Right now the biggest benefit with the Icons is the affordability and it seem their service is really good and the Icons are rebuild able.

Hmmm.. was told $120-150 to rebuild my shocks and free shipping back. Now being told $260..

 

Yea fox sucks because you have to clear coat them before installing them...


I painted mine black except for the stickers anyway. I have yet to see an issue with fox other than Corey's (possibly not mounted correctly?)

I've seen a number of broken icons and a broken king. Bgr's lower mount uniball broke.
