But I did warn the guy that if he keeps posting pics of his metal work, people will start asking him for pricing. Good for him! He welds for a living so you know his work is spot on.

Headlight retrofit stuff will be here today, CBI ditch light bracket invoice just came, coilovers will be here Saturday and rear shocks on monday.

 

I love how low profile they are. They will look good on your truck Jeff. I do kinda like the idea of Brad's wings though. Does anyone think if I rolled they would offer any protection? Or just add a fulcrum and send me onto my cab that much harder?

Which one?

I think maybe in very specific circumstances the bumpouts could help to prevent a roll if they catch on something and stop you. Hard to explain what I'm thinking. I don't think they would be particularly helpful though.

What are you gettin from cbi?

Are you talking about the picture from rausch?

I guess if the slider hit the ground it would keep you more stable than if the slider wasn't there? Essentially making your point of roll over harder to achieve in that situation?

 

I saw pics of the welds in TW live and stared at them for a good 5 minutes or so. Then I went to his page to check out the sliders. Stuff definitely looks to be top notch, but my only concern would be there are only 3 arms connecting to the frame compared to the 4 or 5 that just about all the other vendors have.

 

Yeah that pic. I mean I feel like it might help in some cases in the right situation but from what from stunt bikes is sometimes something like that can make things roll more. Some cages had an issue where if the bike fell over on the cage there would be enough momentum on the bike to let it roll onto your controls and bending your clip ons. I wonder if big kick out sliders would create the same effect or help in a situation like that.

 

I think the key is to not have enough momentum.

 

They just came out with ditch light brackets for the 4th gens. They mount under the hood and the lights will stick out just by the mirrors and past the A pillar. The guy in the link below has LED pods, but I think I'm going to go with HID spots. I have some KC daylighter I mated with some cheap DDM 55W HIDs and they throw light for like 1/2 a mile. I have the 40" led which is great for lighting up the area immediately in front of me, but I ant something with a little more throw. The KC's I have are 6" round so they may be a bit big, worst case I'll get some cheap autozone housings and throw the HIDs in there and worst worst case I'll just buy LED pods.

 

Truth. My clutch/throttle control improved so fucking much with that day at Rausch. Nothing like a solid 6 hours of wheeling to practice. I think that's why i liked RC a lot. It was a fuck ton of wheeling and barely stopping except for lunch.

 

What retrofit kit did you get?

 

Mini H1's with gattling 2.0 shrouds, 80MM external white halos (thinking now maybe internal would have ben cooler) and I'm gonna make red demon eyes by painting the shield and maybe throwing some red LEDs in the projectors. Already have the headlights baked and good to go

 

That and he doesn't offer DOM tubing which is a little stronger.

 

He mentioned he can do DOM for $70 more.

 

I'm trying to stay focus on mods that I really need, and Retros don't fit my "Need" criteria..... BUT I really really like them.... so they might end up in my aesthetic/cosmetic things to do....

 

I think that 4xI comes up to be about same price..... once you add $70 for DOM
