3 days in PA for a layoff. Not sure about NJ and getting fired.

Wawa isn't going to let him collect anyway. They will deny his claim because he was fired and they will simply claim he wasn't doing the work he was hired to do. My old job used to deny all claims regardless of the situation and make the person go to mediation if they wanted to fight it.

Either way he hasn't paid into the system and wasn't making much so even if he were to get awarded the money it would be next to nothing.

    Requirements for Payment
    Fired (Discharged)

If you were fired or discharged from your job because you did something that was not in the best interests of your employer, you may be disqualified from collecting benefits. This kind of discharge is known as "misconduct." There are three types of misconduct: simple, severe and gross. A simple misconduct disqualification (i.e. insubordination, lateness or absences with no written warnings from your employer) would begin with the week the firing or suspension occurred, and continues for the next seven (7) weeks. After the disqualification period ends, you may be eligible to collect benefits.

Yeah I definitely see your points as well. While I can't speak for Hunter and his situation because I don't know his or anyone's situation for that matter, I agree there are people who don't need to be on it, but may be on it.

All you can do is watch out for yourself and your family and hope to set yourself up to not need gov't assistance of any kind.

I had a particular instance the other day that had made me angry. Had a woman in front of me at shop rite with a cart full of expensive name brand groceries. She "forgot" to put the can of almonds that were sitting in the top basket and the cashier called her out on it after ringing her up. The cashier mentioned he had missed it (taking the blame on himself even though it was her fuck up whether it was purposeful or not) and asked her if she still wanted them. She responded with quite a bit of attitude "Of course I want them!". She re-swipes a card that came from her Louis Vutton handbag (that was also packed with credit cards etc) and I saw when she swiped it said "food stamps" or something similar. Now I'm not sure if her handbag was real or not, but if someone is struggling enough to be on the food stamp program you would think they would get the most for their money that gets them large quantities of food whether it taste good or not. Shit like that really gets to me. Also the fact that the government moved food stamps to debit cars so those who are using them "don't feel embarrassed."

    /last ant I promise.

Shit.... IMO you get fired you shouldn't even be able to collect. PA wouldn't let you. Go figure NJ is more liberal with it's hand outs.

Besides I don't have much NJ wheeling stuff to discuss anyway.

I did however take my Mom out for her bday last week and did a ton of "guy stuff" that shes told me she always wanted to try. Took her shooting and had her shoot a 12-guage, a .22 and an AR-15. She didn't like the shotgun (probably because we had to shoot buckshot) but had a blast with the AR. Then I took her wheeling locally to places I used to ride my dirtbike growing up and to places I remember walking to as a kid and drinking with my friends at. It was sweet seeing those places again in the truck. I wanna go back and check out the one trail again.

My parents aren't into any of that stuff either, but it's my truck, I paid for it, and as long as it's in working order they just keep their thoughts to themselves. :D

Yeah she's pretty damn awesome. I really think she just enjoyed getting to spend some time with me one on one too. I don't get to see them much due to conflicting schedules all the time. My family never understood all my hobbies between trucks and bikes but always admired the passion I had for them and the work I could do modding stuff.

Yeah I want to lift so I don't break shit :p Though all I need for a while is sliders if I keep my wheeling as mild as I have.

Someone needs to help turn you into a productive member of society or call you out for being a bum. Via the web means my options are limited so you get bashed for stating stupied shit and being a moocher.

You clearly have no pride or shame. You'll continually post up shit that's wrong and keep coming back for more. I guess it's like beating a dead horse, but I can't stand by and keep quiet. Anyone with pride or shame would stop posting, admit they were wrong, or fight back.

You just lay down and take it.

I would be personally ashamed if I were you.

    Meh....I'm bashing.

How about you start a savings account and put some money away so you don't need hand outs when you get fired from the next job?

    Hows that for a plan?
