    Yeah. That plate is a little bent and some of the powdercoat chipped off but nothing a little paint can't fix. Still haven't taken an angle grinder to the hook to get some more clearance for a tow strap.

    I don't think you need to take much but you can use the clearance just to make things a little easier. But I think you mean taking the grinder to the skid not the hook right?

    I have heard that but I tried it and I think it's bullshit.

    Best case is to just lift the rear of the truck up and adjust the star until the pads are just slightly rubbing the drums. You should still be able to turn them by hand - if you can't they are to tight per what I read.

    There isn't a lot of clearance around the factory tow hook because of the ARB mounting bracket, so we need to come up with some garage engineering to solve that problem. Or I could just install a winch.

    Well, all the camera gear sales are over so that frees up some of my toy money. Thinking about a Warn 9500lb one with synthetic line. Going to need an offset Hawse fairlead though to avoid drilling holes in the ARB.

    You guys can adjust your rear brakes by hand??? Damn you.

    The rear brakes are supposed to auto adjust, but at least in my experience that stops working pretty quick. If it is working then setting the parking brake is the best way to keep them adjusted since it will fully seat the rear brakes.

    I believe the reversing and braking thing is either old school thinking that no longer applies or just meant to loosen things up so the adjuster works properly. I forget, I remember reading up on it a while go, could be completely wrong.

    And I wish the term e-brake would be abolished. It's a parking brake, you should always use it regardless of transmission. You auto guys really want to trust your vehicle on a hill solely to a little pin in the transmission?
