Need a hitch first, otherwise I would.

Not the first time I needed a tug from the rear too. And where I hooked it to really isn't a good spot. I hooked that d ring up to the same spot when I was stuck solo with my pull along and it ripped through the frame.

Hey sometimes you gotta be in shitty places, like live in Ewing.

 

I think before i wheel again ill have a tow strap and a d-ring. Having it already hooked up would save so much trouble in the woods, especially in icy mud puddles like on saturday

Can't fit a shackle in the stock bumper hole? That's the best you are gonna do without buying a hitch or bumper.

 

That is probably the next thing to rust out on me.

I never thought to because honestly it would probably rip out too. That spot is particularly rusty.



It may have more meat than the other spot I have been using though.

 

What about a big trailer ball in bed like a fifth wheel thing?

 

What you see on the surface is not where that point gets its strength. There's a solid steel bar in there.

BTW a good hitch is like $100-$150 and takes about a half an hour to install. Just keep that in mind if you're trying to keep it inexpensive, a hitch doesn't cost much.

 

I completely hear that but it's not worth it in the end for me. I rather save the $100-150 for the eventually replacement bumper. Especially if I don't have any other use for a hitch as of right now too.

 

meh yeah i'd just save up for a rear bumper. Aren't they pretty cheap for you guys?

 

The 4xinnovations one is $473, not bad but not in budget right now. Nothing is in budget right now besides maintenance and tiny cheap mods once a month ($15 or less) to keep me happy. I would love to get one with a swing out tire carrier and all that jazz but that won't fit in with the purpose I bought the truck for, which is hauling toys.

 

Anyone interested? this GB is on to a very slow start and we need at least 10 to get it going....
