looked at tracking number from CBI for my sliders and they will be here Monday ordered them yesterday wow now that's service. Thanks to all of for your input about helping with my final decision on picking out a set of sliders. Bunch of good people here.

 

Question for you body guys (Craig) - I sanded out the scratches and primed this. Has a weird bubbly spot so I started sanding it away and took off all the primer and got what you see above, I have to sand through the original paint. Should I re-prime those areas and sand over them? Or should I just hit it with some paint since it looks kinda blended?

 

did you clean it with a tack cloth before you primed it? I would wipe it down with a tack cloth and reprime it.

 

yeah, i wiped it down with some soapy water and then dried it with a cloth, i kept sanding a bti more and some more original paint came off, i'm gonna hit it with some more primer and sand it even, it hink that's the right move. Owrst case i'll just plastidip the fucking thing if my color match doesn't work out

 

Couple questions as I don't have all that fancy jazz. Does the back up camera only come on when you are in reverse? Or can you turn it on anytime you want? If you can turn it on any time you want you may be able to stream whatever you are seeing from your head unit to a hard drive. Honestly your best and cheaper option is to buy one from Amazon ($50-100) that can be used for the exterior and easily hidden.

 

If they haven't changed the backup camera wiring since 2009, then you can tap into the backup camera connection using the connector in the front driver-side kick panel

You are still going to need a recording device that accepts an RCA video input, and you will need to wire something up to send power to the backup camera since it only stays on for a short time after you put the car in reverse.

Just shot it with another coat of primer and one spot is way better, the other still has some bubbling/flaking on the edges of where I sanded... Guess I'll let it dry and try sanding it out further. It's definitely better than it was but still looks shitty. What am I doing wrong

Let the primer cure? i let it go overnight and that same shit still happened, that's what I sanded away. It's gonna dry like that again. I don't wanna have to sand off all the old paint, that sounds like a nightmare.
