How warm is the area you are painting in? That primer looks funny. Looks like it has sheen? All primers I have ever used were super dry.

Yeah it dries pretty qucik it's cause I took that seconds after I shot the coat, but even after it dries it's gonna look like that. It's on my roof outside, I warmed up the can though but it's just those spots where I sanded.

You're painting it outside? Probably a bad idea. Humidity can cause primers/paint to bubble like that...

yeah, I am but i've been doing this forever with no issues and half of it is drying fine. I might just take it to a fucking maaco and pay them 50 bucks to paint it or something, im going crazy with it

im thinking maybe the primer isn't sticking ot the old paint? Should I try some adhesion promoter? Like I said, it's just the areas where there is a little old paint exposed, its fine on the black plastic and the rest of the areas. either way i gotta wait for it to dry now and resand it. probably my best bet to just sand down the whole thing to bare plastic eh?

Yeah man you need a temperature controlled area above 50 degrees for solid drying along with can temps in the same range.

Im really doubting it's just the temp. I only shot the paint outside, it's drying inside and stinking up the apt.

:goingcrazy: I think I'm just going to take it to maaco. I don't have the patience, space or temperature controlled area for this shit. I called the people i bought the paint from and of course they are usless

yeah I saw that on t4r this morning, IDK how I feel about it.

Also, I'm going to try sanding this again, hitting it with some black rustoleom enamel that will lay really thin and then maybe color matching over that.

I thought your exhaust was supposed to stop your truck from sounding like a sewing machine?

there are cameras you can get that are always recording to a sd card on a loop and then when it feels an impact it saves the video so you can view it or show it to cops.

you can turn it on with a switch very easily but you still need a way to record it. like hold a phone up to the screen if you have time.

could be some wax residue on there or something. I'd say wipe the whole thing down with gas to clean it up, then wipe it with gas again to make sure its definitely clean, then self etching primer, then paint.

 no good for your engine

I wish I could go out and do this but I have to be easy on my truck till i do the clutch. :( No fun and most likely no wheeling till RC. And his truck sounds way better when he's not bouncing off the limiter.
