    Yeah not sure how I owed so much to nj this year. I try to get my fed as close to 0 as possible, got 300 back. And worked in jersey three months and pa 9 months, owed and got nothing on my pa return but owed 1700 on my nj return. Does pa state taxes take out less than nj and that's why?

    You filed wrong....you can only hope.

    Pa and nj are reciprocal. If you said you worked out of state while that is true it only pertains to states that aren't reciprocal. I did that one year by accident and TurboTax said I owed 3k. I unclicked the "worked out of state" and got 2k back.
