I believe I read a thread in the second gen section about this and Mr. Tarantino said at his shop they just do front to back. I don't wanna put words in his mouth though so that answer isn't fact...yet. I just do front to back myself. I've always notice the backs wear different from the front but side to side they seem about the same unless your alignment is junk.

    fuck those idiots.

    front/back / discussion :D

screw that. did it once and it cost me (4) Goodyear A/T's

This is the preferred method of all people who have had issues before.

Once you fry a set of tires you will believe as well.

I think Standingcow just had his Duratracs go bad from the "X" method.

There is no winning this one. Just people who know first hand because they have had issues and people who got lucky so far doing the X method who also know first hand.

All I have to say is I will LMAO in your face if anyone here does the "X" method and ruins a entire set of 4 tires because we all told you so.

Enjoy your wobble wobble wobble from the belts getting fubar from changing directions on them. :D

We weren't talking about removing directional tires and resetting the bead, we were talking about normal non directional tires like 95% of the ones on the road today and whether or not you rotate front to back or in an x pattern. Front to back you just jack up one side of the truck at a time where as with an x pattern you pretty much need to lift the truck completely off the ground.
