I comfreced 2 discs in my lower back about 2 1/2 years ago. I really sucked. It took me about 2 months to get back to normal. I used a back brace and advil. I also go to a chiropractor.

I want taking a 20000 pound fork lift of a trailer (We used to tow it with a F350. Total weight of truck and trailer was about 38000 pounds.) and the steel and wood ramp broke in half and it fell about a foot. The seat was shot so i was basiclly sitting on a peace of wood. I had gone on and off the trailer a couple times with it and never had a problem. It was a tag trailer for big equipment so i should have been able to handle it but i gess the ramps where just shot. All well its better now but still bothers me every once in awhile.

Think most of us are in the "Did I listen? Nooooooo...." boat. :) Lower back is a bit messed up, but it's more from favoring my right knee which I twisted the crap out of when I was 16.. now there's not much there in terms of cartilege etc. so I guess it's mostly bone on bone and I wind up limping if I'm on my feet for extreme lengths of time, which causes me to favor the leg, which kinks up my back, which makes things worse, etc. etc. :D

Dave, my wife messed up her back last year and ended up having surgery on it. I showed her this thread and she strongly suggests you get a second opinion on it. She waited too long and tried the therapy and just got worse and worse. I hope this works out for you, back problems are no fun. I've been laid up for a week or so at a time, but never anything serious. But, on a lighter note, enjoy the Vicodin:D (or whatever they gave you). Hope to hear you're up and around soon, and I'll probably be seeing you when I need tires. I hear you might know what you're talking about.;)
