Anyone have any good stories about driving in the snow the other day? I have a few, I HAVE to drive so there is no option for me. Whether I have to drive to get to work but I also have to drive while I am at work. But its the people that dont have to drive that get caught in the snow that is really bad. My step sister got caught on the Storm King Mt for 6 hours. She tried to go over the mountain to bring her new land lord some paper work..... crazy. My dad called me while I was basicly across from her. I tried calling her but her phone was off. She was running out of battery power on her cell. But there was enough to post some BS on FB!!!!! Great!!! That was just annoying.

On that same mt while I was driving over it I had all 6 lights on up front and if I saw people in the road I would honk a couple of times to let the people know that I saw them and to give them a chance to get off the road or out of the way. So I see a tractor trailer taking up 1 and a half lanes and the driver is out with a shovel in his hand ( alot of good that will do). So I honk and I am maybe 200 feet away from him figuring he will get out of the way. NO, he stands there in the middle of the road with a black jacket on with his hood up and dark blue jeans on.... if it wasnt for the lights I would not have seen him and hit him. Mind you I may have been doing 20 mph.... he still wouldnt have faired well. Then he forces me off the road to go around him, but I got right back on.

Then you get the people in the front wheel drive 2 door priuses that are melting their front tires by spinning up the mountain that are amusing to watch but scary to pass. I must have saw anywhere between 100 and 150 cars just parked and abandoned on that mountain and about 1000 cars stuck on the north bound lane for hours.

Sorry for the long post just want to see if anyone else has any stories.....plus I wanted to rant a little bit. If you dont have to drive in a storm (rain or snow) DONT!!!!

I find once you get out of North Jersey nobody absolutely nobody knows how to drive in snow or ice. My folks are from Charlotte NC - they get a 1/4'' of snow and it's complete chaos and no one even has snow tires. I also have people in Baltimore and have to go there often. It's scary:eek: when you hit South Jersey, Del and Maryland.

I was driving to work the night the snow fell. I was driving a Buick century because my truck is not drivable at the moment. I had to park for an hour because traffic was stopped due to a jack ass driving too fast and causing an accident. People are retarted. This area has more people with 4wd vehicles than when I lived in the mountains of Colorado, and yet hardly any of them have enough common sense to be able to drive safely in the snow...

Not even about driving safe, if you dont have to drive dont. I had a Ford Focus or Fusion follow me all the way over that same mt. He just took his time and tried to follow my line. When I flashed my bed lights at him he backed off it was actually funny. He didnt follow right behind me anyway but there were some really bad spots that if I started sliding I wanted him as far behind me as possible.
