my mom was told her brakes needed to be done when she was in for an oil change. i did them that weekend, she came by a few days later with a "rock in the dust shield" took it out for a drive and the wheel bearing went from no noise to absolutely cooked in a few days. was super annoyed to pull off all the brakes and stuff again to pull the wheel bearings, thought the tacoma has way more room then a subaru does

 

ah man... What a bummer..

Could be a rock or bent brake shield. The bearing isn’t really that hard if you have an impact to get the 35mm nut off. A 19mm to get the caliber off and a 17mm end wrench to get the bearing off. If you have the tools it’s less than an hour of work easy peasy.

It will probably piss off a lot of Toyota purest that will say my truck will fall apart instantaneously, but I put NAPA Gold $220 unit bearings in mine. Lifetime warranty I’ve only touched them again because I gusseted my spindles.

 

I have TRQ on my Tacoma, up front no issue yet, but i also torques things like they needed to be and looked solid last I checked them

 

I have $79 TRQ LCA’s Probably won’t go 240k like my OEM but whatever

 

exactly! i figure as easy as they are to do, that if i got another 100k id be winning long run, but at another 100K if my Tacoma is still in my life then its my daughter and sons problem.

 

Lol, I handed down my 96’ to my son. He isn’t getting his dick beaters on my 13’.

 

my kids are 9, and 6. if they want the Tacoma its theirs, thought my son has already "claimed" the 67 f100 as "his truck" but my 9yo she wants the Tacoma, but also has the most passenger wheeling time and has driven it a few times on some back roads from my lap
