NM Adventure Series

Maybe a mid week trip in mid-late June would be doable ... idk.. not going to let traffic deter me.. there's a reason there's traffic.

 

I'd still be up to trip in the area but if you can pin down a date I'll see if I can make it work.

 

What about 3rd week of June... I can do weekdays... which should help with traffic.. if anyone else is interested. Would be cool to put together some trails around that area

So @TacoIII and I are going up to Cedro Peak on Saturday morning. We will be meeting around 900 if anyone wants tag along.

 

You never told me you say sheep the other day WTF haha

 

I'd be game... what kind of trail/how long?

 

It is a trail in the national forest in Tijeras, it is in the woods so possible pinstripes, the trail is a lot of rock in spots, you will need 4x4 in a couple sections, trail should only take a few hours.

 

Its not bad at all, I try to run it in 2wd most of the time but wind up having to throw it in 4x4 for some of the rocky sections.

 

I've been through the coyote trailhead right there, out and around to Juan Thomas... we live in Edgewood, so that's a pretty close trail. Guess I didn't realize Cedro Peak was further south of that also. Where you guys meeting?

 

We will run it backwards so I believe it is just off Juan Thomas road.

 

We can meet at the turn off on Juan Tomas by highway 337.

 

Just a reminder to everyone, @TacoIII and I are going to cedro tomorrow if they want to tag along.

Went up to angel fire, NM on Friday. Incredible network of trails/forest Rds up there off of forest rd 76.

then we went back on 76, linked to 176, 438,and 440 to try to get up to Cerro vista pass.





Made almost all the way, then started hitting fallen tree after fallen tree. Chopped one down, pulled two out with the winch, and then came this sucker. Moved it about 15ft With different line placements but kept getting stuck on other stumps and trees. Next time chainsaw!

 

Went out with the family today.
