Looks like a great run was had. Weather seemed really nice. Beyond the "don't be an idiot" are there any specific requirements to join in on this with the group?

We usually make a day out of it, but this last trip, we were out there from 9:00 am ~ 4:30 pm. We did stop a lot along the way and hung out in various spots, so of course, that eats up a bunch of time. If we didn't stop as much, we could probably run the trail in a couple of hours, so it varies slightly depending on what people want to do.

The weather was pretty nice it was a little windy but not terrible. I can't really think of any requirements, maybe 4x4? It helps but not necessary. The trails we usually run have bypasses for most of the obstacles, so if you're not comfortable hitting something, it's no biggie. Otherwise, people get stuck and break things sometimes, so I guess patience is a good thing to have. Come out and join us next time.

2wd trucks often have trouble in the deep sand, arroyo bottoms etc. in my experience. I think 4wd would be a minimum, imo.
There's parts that a 2wd could have fun with, though.
It was extremely dry out there Saturday, the sand was like flour. :tumbleweed:

I’d love to run Bursum road sometime in the Gila. Sounds kind of sketchy to do alone

didnt know this was a thing, looks like a fun cruise.

i camped in the gila a few weeks ago with plans to do the Chloride ghost town run on the way back to town, but it started snowing hard and i was alone. its supposed to be a fun easy cruise in the dirt though

Oh yeah i saw your post about that. I read Bursum road is kind of eroded and rocky now since it burned over but its apparently a really cool trail up into the Mogollon mountains. I was checking it out on google earth. I’m usually exploring the forest alone but this one sounds like it’d be nice to have another vehicle. Sounds extra ominous to me because of the black metal band Burzum haha

What Pigger said. Rio Puerco really needs 4WD. Especially when the sand is like flour.

Pigger, 35lb? Don't make me send you deflators.

Glad to see you guys out having fun! Thanks for sharing.

Copied my post over from the NM thread.

    -----------

Welp I guess Im always spaming on here these days. So we're about two weeks out from the next monthly meet just wanted to put in on everyones radar.

We'll plan for the typical meet on Thursday March 4th around 5:00 - 5:30 depending on peoples work schedule. @TacoIII is open to hosting as hes got a bunch of space for us all to hang out. I'll post a reminder again next week.

In addition to that, @Phessor missed out on the last Puerco run and wanted to get in on the action. He'd be coming in from AZ for a run so we were talking about the weekend of March 27th if people are interested, and again I'm just putting it on the radar. I'll post this in the adventure thread as well.

Ventured out to start learning how to enjoy Colorado winters without finding myself under an avalanche. South end of Boreas Pass just outside of Como, CO on a day enjoying some sun and 13 degree F.

Did some wheeling through some dry river beds to test out my new camera setup. I'm quite pleased with the performance to say the least.

I recall seeing that FJ elsewhere. Is that Colin's prior rig?

So that's Colin then! Ha! I think he's poked around on the Colorado FJ Cruisers FB page but wasn't sure it was him.

It’s a Canon 90D. All of those pics were shot with a 50mm prime lens. My zoom lens is gonna get here today so I’m looking forward to messing around with that too.
