A driveshaft from a 4runner might work. Roughly the same wheelbase :notsure:

Did some research and it looks like the 4Runner and the single cab have the same part number. Texted Silas to see if he knows of any.

Have to come up with another plan at this point. Schedules aren't lining up to make it to the junkyard today.

There's a couple 4wd third gen 4Runners at the U-Pull it on south Broadway. Last time I was there (a month or so ago), two of them still had their driveshafts.

I looked because I was considering picking one up for a spare.

What year 4 runners will it work with? My neighbor has an older one in his garage that he is doing a SAS and engin swap on... I'll ask him.

Looking like this isn't getting much enthusiasm. Anyone have a better weekend or somewhere else they'd like to go?

If my truck was in better condition I'd be in. At this rate, I'm shooting for Moab time frame.

No set date yet on the T.A.Co. Takeover of Moab 2014. I'm sure the NM BS thread will have something posted once the dates are set. It's a bunch of Toyota owners getting together to wheel some trails in Moab, UT. Check out the Moab section of the forum to see stuff from the previous years.

Edit: See Tom's post above for link.

I think the main problem is that we're talking a looooooong day trip, and alot of driving for a couple hours of 'wheeling time. Just speaking for myself here, but if I'm driving that far I usually like to make it an overnighter.

Have any of you guys ever checked out Cedro Peak? That would make a nice, easy day trip for a small group.

White Toy Taco did a Cedro Peak run over a year ago. I didn't go but the general feeling I got from the participants was it was fun. We could change to there. I'm not too familiar with the area other than it is off of 14, south of I-40. Peeps chime in if you are interested and I'll change it. Anyone want to lead it?

I've been out there a couple times.... Like I said, a great place for a small group, but I wouldn't roll out there with any more than 4-5 trucks. The trails are pretty tight, and there's lots of motorcycle traffic. It's a good place to go for a quick trip close to ABQ. Different terrain than the puerco, and you're in the mountains. I like to use it to test new upgrades.

These pics are from the last couple trips out there.

    3b6865a6_d214adbc014844ff3b335638996f2bc0278cb3ce.jpg

I had to winch up this hill... there was a layer of ice under the snow.

    5ee28bdf_06ca92bebb066f7cfb730e5d55ae0d7583f8f43a.jpg

I tried it once without the winch, made it half way up and then experienced a very uncontrolled slide backwards down the hill. I almost took out the back of my rig on the tree, photo right. You can see the tracks from the tires where I nearly slid into the tree before stopping.

I took this one on the way back down after I used the winch to get up.

It's harder when the trails are wet/muddy....

This spot is called the "stairs", it's a little play area off the side of the main trail that has some 1.5-2 foot ledges to play on.

This is just below, and south of the peak... headed into the backside of the area.
