Tues/Weds of next week, I'm off work. The storm should roll out Sunday night, and if it doesn't get too warm on Monday, the snow will still be fresh come Tues.

I was at cedro peaks tonight with family. I had a good time on trails. Its a good trail to help you spend more money. Now I am thinking. Gut mud flaps or mod em. Then thinking next tires will be 265 75 16 or 275 70 16 or in that variant. That will give height I need for easy stuff. I am never going to get my truck to Moab material like you all till my warranty is fully up.

Lots of washes but not enough snow to slide on. I just washed my under carriage. They salted the roads getting there and I couldn't wait to wash truck in cold.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
Moab is a loose term and depends alot on what you are wheeling. You would easily be able to get a stock truck through many trails there, even with stock tires. Hit me up when you need armor though.

Nice photo, man! I'm glad to see it's cold enough out there that the moisture is coming down as snow rather than rain. They say on the news that round 2 of this storm is on it's way, so we'll see how tonight/tomorrow go.

Well got some snow in the jemez MTs 3 to 5 in. My elk hunt is the next 5 days so I was out hiking and wheeling in the snow this morning.

The crappy part is that it rained before it snowed so everything is ice under the snow.

Duratracks did ok, there about 65%. This weather makes me want new tires:eek:

Okay all, is there anyone interested in buying my whole rear axel with e-locker? It's off a 2007 Tacoma 4door. The differential fluids have been changed every 30,000 miles about and in perfect working order. We could spend a couple hours at my place pulling your whole assembly out and putting mine in. Just have to unbolt shocks/ leaf pack (10 bolts), disconnect drive shaft (4bolts), disconect brake lines and electrical harness... Roll yours out and put mine in, connect everything, bleed the brakes, and I can wire up the electronic rear locker to your truck and have wire diagram for it also. Could also swap out drive shafts so u can have my brand new Toyota carrier bearing and u joints (worth about $500 parts and labor).

    Thinking $1200 For everything.

Also have a set of extended travel rear bilstine 5100 (4"-6" lift) with a set of lift blocks that are less than a year old... Would need your factory or what ever parts to go back on my truck.
This is for only good for the next week or two because the truck will be gone after that.

I live in Rio Rancho NM.

It's been too long since this thread has had any action, so I thought I'd pitch you guys an idea...

A Martin Luther King Jr. Day Trail Ride.... you know, to celebrate civil rights and stuff.

 I have a dream, that on this day Toyotas off all ages, colors, and creeds will ride together on dirt roads as brothers, that we will rise above the rocks and cacti as one group of unified vehicular enthusiasts.

Ok, really. How about La Bajada > Caja Del Rio > The Sinkhole > Check out & maybe run Tank Trap > end at Diablo Canyon > home. If we did everything it would be a really long day, if it was even possible. However, if we chose one or the other between Tank Trap/Diablo Canyon it would be a sweet day if we started early.

So we start here (you can see the Sandias in the background = short drive)

    1e8c7ccd_98f4fb51f8517c82da4c1cfdc97a3c5da57261af.jpg

Work our way over to here....

    d45f014a_00060c20a7ce92d880ac4006a073dc7545aea991.jpg

Then continue on to here, and decide if we're feeling froggy...

    tt_zpsf4ad3952_f277f913d47f1403d1e06e26b26271833ed47711.jpg

    tt2_zpsf3a7b369_42b518001aa6ad37b4f2d8077cd804a8f1cbf611.jpg

If we DON'T run Tank Trap, we can continue on to Diablo Canyon for a shorter, but equally challenging trail.... We would drive between the cliffs down a wash filled with boulders to the Rio Grande, then come back out on Buckman Rd.

Turn right at cairn, exit the canyon 35 44.992 -106 11.270

    Diablo Canyon Info:

There is none. But I know we can run it. We'll have to walk it to see how nasty it looks because it changes constantly depending on what the previous summers flash floods do to the bed of the wash.

 Obviously, this would be a run for 4WD vehicles only. Sorry 2WD guys, but we'd have to tow you all day long.

To run Tank Trap or Diablo Canyon, you'll want 33's, skids, and a locker to be comfortable. Both trails are loops, so they would be completely optional, while still allowing you to complete the remainder of the run. Anyone who doesn't want to run them can go around to the end of each trail on an easy dirt road.

Any takers??? I've never run Tank Trap or Diablo Canyon. I've been to the entrance of Diablo, but didn't run it because I was on stock skids. These are trails that you don't want to run by yourself, so lets get a group together and scratch them off the list.
