New guy, but just did a couple trails over the past few days...all with a stock 2014 DCSB 4x4 TRD Off Road.

    1) Cedro Peak... 337 down to FR 462. FR 462 to FR 13 (moderate trail, rocks, ruts, narrow, sharp turns). FR 13 to 252 to top of Cedro Peak. Back down to 252 to 242 and out. FR 13 is pretty rough, and if you meet someone coming the other way... Good Luck.

    2) Elk Mountain Run... I-25 to Hwy 50 to Pecos. North on 63. Take FR 646. It's a little muddy right now, some snow at the higher elevations. But the colors are a changing! Talk about a beautiful drive...quite a simple drive, possibly no 4x4 required.

I'm going to be doing Elk mountain in a couple weeks with a land rover group. Technical at all? Or just scenic?

I was just in Chama on Monday and the scenary was spectacular! There is not really any technical trails but for scenary head east on US 64 to tres pierdas and north on 285 then FR 87 will take you close to the Co border, it's a nice trail I highly recommend!

Thank you! That helps a ton, we just need some guidance of where to go.
We have some good tech. stuff down here, but could use a change of scenery. Any other ideas of where to go? When I took the train a few yrs ago I saw a nice trail going in and out of the tracks, but idk how I would find it.

OK, youse guise. Nick and I are thinking Glorieta Mesa on Sat Nov 29th. We don't have a plan yet but a definite hankering. Keep an eye out for a sign up. In the meantime, some info:

If I recall correctly, we'll be on the southside of I-25. SGT Taco and Silas have been out there so going to talk to them to get an idea of difficulty in order to set minimum equipment standards. Stay tuned.

I'm in pending 2 things, if it wouldn't be an issue for a stock 4x4, and I don't get a new out of state job waiting to hear the decision on.

I've been told that KCDuran took his 2WD in there. SGT Taco was telling me that there are obstacles but all have a bypass.

SGT Taco and I got a bit tired of working on vehicles so we said "f-it" and hit the trail today instead. We ran into TacoIII on the way to Cedro Peak and made it a caravan.

One of these days I'll be able to hit a trail. Of course, with family parties about 30+ weekends a year, and everything else that pops up, makes it a bit hard!

Alrighty. Life has a way of interceding. No formal plans for this Saturday as of yet. Just haven't had time to do all the research and planning. Keep an eye out incase something gets posted. It will either be spectacular fun or fizzle out into a quiet Saturday at home.
