I'm up for either as well. Cedro Peak is closer but other than the staircase, doesn't have any major obstacles. I'm up for the Puerco as well but I'd most likely skip playing on the obstacles and just stay out of the way of you do your thing.

The real question is when. Can go next weekend in the afternoons. Sunday would be better as Saturday will be recovery day from a work trip (why I'm not going to Monticello Canyon).

I joined as well to go off roading but yet to be on one. I am also a member of jeep sites and they do more tours regularly than taco guys here and also do not limit how many people go. When I saw all the limiting of who went it started sounding clicky weird so I have backed out of a few. The more people the better in my view. Theres always someone pushing stuff to limit and I like it. . On the jeep rides. We have had 28 trucks and we all had a blast. Different people to talk to and different trucks to look at while wheeling. The jeepers do the PuerCo however they make it fun by mixing up routes, and then watch the crawlers do their thing. Try one of those sites too but keep this TW in your crosshair incase you get to roll with some tacos soon. I am not going to advertise other sites here cause not been disrespectful just giving an inside ..however private message me and I can send you website. We have 15 tacos that are dooms day prepped out from ALBQ that we roll with too

^ I agree for the most part. Even though I will say down here on our tight canyons in alamo 12+ trucks makes for a LONG day! I once had 22 in a group and it took us hours longer then a smaller group. It does make for a fun day though.

Not sure I agree with the comments about limiting people here. For the run in the works the limit is based out of respect for the owner of the private property. Showing up with 28 trucks would be seriously rude. As for other runs I have been on and seen discussed here, and through talking to members personally I don't think I have ever seen someone turned away, ever! I think the intent is always to just get people thinking about the tread lightly philosophy, not be selective or picky. In most cases here it is actually the opposite. Trip planners are wishing more would come, not turning folks away.

Not saying big groups aren't fun, just saying I think your missing the point here... Or maybe I'm missing yours...

I think Darnell is making it. Highly recommended that phone numbers be exchanged so peeps can get in touch on the road as needed. (if you haven't done so already)

As far as the limits on runs, I only use them on runs where access is limited. Small areas like Cedro Peak and trails with private property don't lend themselves to large parties rolling through. Typically those runs we do in NF don't have limitations because the trail system can handle the larger traffic.

Also, I highly encourage people to organize their own runs and post pictures either here or in the BS thread. I don't have a monopoly on organizing things or this thread and I know that I can't please everyone. Things don't happen without participation and they don't happen the way you want them to without your input.

Hope you guys going on Saturday have a safe and enjoyable adventure. Wish I was going. Looking forward to any pictures that get posted.

OBTW, please watch the areas marked as private property. We got yelled at for what was deemed going too fast. Hence the "No hot dogs in the water" story. We giggle about it now but just keep in mind that the owner is watching and we are representing off-roaders when we drive through. Off my fatherly soap box now, ya'll have fun now, ya hear.

Darnell said he would be coming along, but hasn't made an appearance in this thread for a couple weeks. I have no problem driving down by myself and meeting you guys at the turnoff from I-25. I'm pretty sure you already have my phone number, but I'll send you a PM just in case. Let's talk later tonight and work out meeting times, etc.

Good points, Tom! Wish you were coming along as well. We'll be sure to take it easy through the private sections.

7 A.M. at the classiest hotel in ABQ works for me! I will have one passenger and one or two dogs so I could take one more person if need be.
