Keith at Keith's Wheel Alignment has been my go-to guy for around 30 years now. He's on Arno NE, near Lomas & Edith. Tell him Greg R. sent you, but be polite, please; he doesn't put up w/ BS. His phone # is 553-3789. He only works there on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. He's probably not the cheapest, but he knows his stuff.

If Greg's guy doesn't work out for you, I have been going to Adam (owner) and Mark (tech) at ABQ Tire for 17 years and they have always taken good care of me. Mark has performed some miracle alignments for me, and he's super laid back.

Got the alignment done at ABQ Tire and im very happy. The tech did point out that the last guys to do my alignment destroyed my LCA adjusting bolts.... but he was still able to get it true. Very impressed with their professional work and customer service. Thanks again!

I did get in touch with keith but he was a little more expensive. But thank you for the reference.

I always tell Mark (the tech that works on my rig) that I hope he doesn't retire anytime soon, because I won't be able to find anyone as good. It's nice to a have a "guy" for all things automotive... tire guy, alignment guy, parts guy, etc.

Nice, man! I forgot how big that sinkhole is... and deep. Looks like you had a nice day out there.

Nice trip, Ron! I have always wanted to hike up to the base/top of La Ventana. I'm not actually sure if you can get to the top, though.

You're welcome. I'm glad I was able to send them some business, and glad you were happy with their service/work.

I've been on the road a bit in recent weeks... too much to write up thoroughly, but as always I'll share some pics.

If you guys haven't checked out Meow Wolf, you should. Admission is expensive, and it's a busy place, but it is weirdly cool and definitely worth checking out at least once.

Also made it to Questa to help stock some RGCT in the Wild Rivers Area.

In the last few weeks I've been to Las Vegas to Tres Ritos to Taos to Questa into CO to Antonito, across Cumbres/La Manga into Chama, over to Dulce, all the way to Bloomfield, down 550 back to ABQ and through a good chunk of the Jemez and I can tell you...

The snowpack / drought situation in NM is BAD. There is no snow except on the highest peaks around the Wheeler/Latir group, and everywhere I went it was DRY.

I bet somebody went up there, did something silly, and got it closed off. Usually when I go by there I am on my way to Quemado lake to go fishing, so I stop for a picture and keep moving. Someday I'll have to slow down and explore a bit.

Awesome, Stephen! I'm glad to see you made it back up there and got to the top. That drive is definitely worth it for those views. I like seeing people get out and enjoy these places, so you're very welcome. Thanks to you for sharing pictures and a trip report.

At first I was a little surprised to see you made it up so early in the year, but then I remembered our snowpack situation is completely dismal.

Ya, we ran into a lot of MTB and ATV's. There are some awesome trails and great camping spots the further you go. Definitely gotta get your truck out there.

    Hello!
I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
I like to go every now and then camping to cloudcroft since it is “really” close to where I live, El Paso Texas.
    I always take this route:
    Us 54 88DE420E-FE8F-42D6-8ADE-842EB97A67A9.jpg

But I wanted to know if it is possible to take an off-road route to get to cloud Croft something like this :

    C97D0681-F35B-4551-9848-C3BFE88F5749.jpg

Do you know any trails ? Or if it is possible?
    Thank you!

I looked at it on Google Maps; looks to me like (from El Paso) you'd take US62 east to Hueco Ranch Rd, turn north, it turns into Loma Linda Rd, which turns into F002 at the NM border. That heads north-east to F037 where you would turn left. That turns into F052, which finally reaches NM506. From there, you could go through Timberon or Pinon to get to Cloudcroft. That said, I have no idea if there are locked gates on that route, and it looks pretty desolate, so bring lots of water.
