I camped off 144 about a month back. I would be down to explore the rest of it! I drove a good ways but ran out of time and probably didn't make it as far as you did.

Looking at your build I bet you would make it.
There is a loop if you didn't want to go back down forest road 315 goes back to 103 and then to 126.

That photo was from last time I was up there.Thought I was going to have time to explore 144 again today on our way back from camping on 70 but I had three teenagers in the back that wanted to be home lol :/. My kids camped out of clear creek campground with their school.

A mtb adventure in Flagstaff this Labour Day weekend.

I have been going up to Creede, CO for my entire life but I have never done the Alpine Loop. Now that I finally own a Tacoma, I was able to this past weekend. I will definitely be doing it again.

Has anyone tried the hill about four miles in on forest road 144?
Thought it rough for a stock Tacoma alone.

Hey all. Anyone been out? I have been on a few trips, but my schedule has changed and I don't have the free time I did before. October is pretty much booked, but going into November some day trips will become an option.

    Recents....

Took a load of firewood to our cabin and it was rainbow day.

The next trip started off well...

But brought about a sad day... hearts absolutely broken saying goodbye to our pup.

    RIP Luna...

    On to happier times...

Went back to the top of NM again... it felt good to be back up there.

Maybe the last campfire of the season?

So sorry for your loss, Nick; Luna was a great pup.

    Excellent photos as usual.

Thanks, Greg. It was a rough one for me and the fam. The girls are excited to get another puppy, but Luna was the best dog I've ever had and it will be hard to fill her spot in the pack.

Southern CO and Northern NM... lots of locations in those pics.

Nick, Luna was super awesome. Going to miss her. Hope you do find another great addition.

Heading back from SLC today. Spending the night in Moab. Getting some biking in while I'm there. After I get back, should be in town for awhile. I'll be checking with you for some November plans.

As much as the dryness gets to me, I'm still enthralled with the beauty of the desolate Desert SW.

This was taken from the rest stop at I-70 and US-191. Gotta love when the highway signs inform you there are no services for over 100 miles.
    Pano - I70&US191.jpg

A couple of mesas outside of Moab up towards Dead Horse Point State Park. Daytime high was 90. One of the reasons I got the hell out of Tucson. Almost October and still hitting the 90s can be no fun. But was so worth it, getting to ride Slickrock and Dead Horse Point trails.
    Pano - Mesas Moab UT.jpg

The Valley of the Gods, Utah! I was so glad I had time to buzz through it. This last trip was fun with distances close enough to make some short detours.
Pano - Valley of the Gods.jpg

Final stop before turning east and heading home was Flagstaff. Met up with a buddy that lives in PHX and we rode Walnut Canyon Rim. This was the view from Fisher Point

After living here for 9 years, finally made it to Taos. Did a day hike up to Williams Lake. Definitely want to get back up there for an overnight to make a trip up to Wheeler's peak and spend some time in town.

I will be headed out to NM from Atlanta next week with my Tacoma and would love to hit a few trails while I have the opportunity. From the looks for this thread, you have some unbelievable trails to see. Any chance any of you would be available on Monday(10/22) or Tuesday(10/23) for a day trip? We will be in Cebolla, but I am willing to do some traveling if needed.
