No 2013 TRD supercharger for CA? WTF!

I went to two dealers in the SF Bay Area and neither could order a SC out of the TRD catalog for my 2013 Taco. If I had realized CA wouldn't let Toyota do the SC for 2013 I would have gotten a 2012!

Anybody else in CA run into this problem?

 

It is the same scenario every year. Be patient and one will be released soon, I'm sure.

 

Yeah, I already pre-ordered mine so the dealer gave me some paper work amounting to and IOU. It looks like we are going to have to wait a few months before it is out. At least it will make us appreciate it more when we get it. Last year they released it at around mid May, and that was after the redesign and some claimed "modifications" to some brackets or what not. So you can probably expect this years to some out at the same time or maybe a little bit earlier. I am curious if the 2012 fit kit will actually fit the 2013......I called everyone possible and they said no, but they were all just underlings. I'm a mechanical engineer so I know what they are doing and its trying to cover their ass. No one could come up with a reason other than "its shows as not fitting the 2013" Well of course it doesn't show it! Let me talk to the damn engineering department!

Those are the part #'s for the 2011's. I have yet to find ANYTHING for the SC kit on the 2013's but I realllllllly hope I'm wrong.

 

I thought the 2012 and 13 were the same...

 

Just placed my weekly call to TRD and as expected I got the same response I've been getting for the last 6 weeks, "I'm sorry sir but we don't have an ETA on the SC kits being made available for the 2013's" booooooo!!!

 

SoCalTacos, You would certainly think so but I guess there is just enough difference that the 2012 doesn't work on the 2013.

I believe the difference has to do with the reflash of the ECU.

 

I can wait.

any questions regarding the 2012 supercharger and fit-kit being approved for the 2013... call TRD Customer Service... 800 688-5912. The parts ARE approved for use on the 2013, they ARE available for shipment, and the 2013 ECU reflash IS available via TS/techstream to the dealership service department laptops.

 

California is gay when it comes to a lot of things... One of the biggest is cars/trucks...

 

Ordered my SC Friday. Can't wait to get it and have it installed!!!

 

Just verified with my local dealership here in Cali, they confirmed the p/n's for the supercharger and fit kit for the 12-13's AND have the s/c reflash for the '13s ready.

 

I only know that in Canada no ecu reflash is available for S/c but the hope is March/April.The Sc from 2012 models have been successfully installed on 2013 models but without a proper reflash the motors will not run correctly.will let Canadian community know when one is available.

Just announced today the supercharger is available in Canada..Have fun...

 

Mine arrived from TRDparts4u yesterday and oddly enough I got a call from the salesman I bought my 13 Taco from telling me the TRD SC was now available. I'm going to check with them Monday and get it scheduled to be installed.

 

Another biggie is gun control.
