My AC stopped, fan still blows but the ac light is not on in the cab, nor will the recirculation light come on. On top of that the truck will not shift out of Park and there is no light on that indicates the transimission position. Is it a fuse?

Please help my truck is loaded ready to take the family for holiday on the fourth!

    -Jon

    Update 7/5/2016:

The engine threw a CEL it was code P0705.

I followed these directions and cleaned up the contacts, and replaced every fuse above the kick panel.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/p0705-park-neutral-switch.86096/

    https://www.scribd.com/document/18857706/T-SB-0277-09

Near as I can tell, someone at Big O probably spilled brake fluid during the exchange and brake line install. They decided to wash the inside of the engine compartment by the fire wall where the seal is not so great, some moisture found itself down the line and in my kick panel and bam! I had a shitty first day of vacation.

Good News 3 hours and some reading later it cost me only a new OBII scanner and a can of contact cleaner.

Thanks guys for helping out! T.W. rules, if you followed the link you'll see that the stealership wants 2400 to fix this known problem (shitty seal resulting in a new harness) as I am out of warranty.

Anyway again thanks to all that replied. I hope this thread will help someone else. I have a video and pictures of symptoms, the code and what I did I'll post up later.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth!

    -Jon

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Start checking fuses, I guess.

I would check fuses first, all that stuff within a confined area of the truck I would also consider a plug getting disconnected.

Have you installed or done anything with the radio or center console or close proximity?

    They are all good.

    Thank you!

No I haven't, but I did have the brakes flushed and new brake lines installed in the front at Big O, yesterday.

If I use the override button the car goes into gear just fine and I can drive it, just no lights indicating the transmission position, and no AC buttons.

Do your brake lights work? Need to apply brakes to shift from park. Wouldn't explain the A/C or dash lights.

Wonder if they disconnected a plug and placed it back on loosely during the brake work allowing it to vibrate off. Check all connections around the brake components under the hood.

I don't have a schematic to isolate a certain common denominator. Just tossing things out

The fuses can look good but be bad, is anything else not working that could help narrow it down? Brake lights, headlights, clock, windows, power outlets, etc

Airbag red light is on, no turn signals, no hvac working with the exception of the fan.

Manuelly can use neutral override to put in gear. It will drive that way.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Have you verified fuses? I can't remember if the owner's manual on mine shows which fuse serves what purpose like my old Cavalier's used to...

Sorry about your luck, definitely not the weekend for it.

I'm guessing either you have bundle of wires that were not rerouted the right way cut, a large connector unplugged or a relay/fuse issue.

No turn signals leads me to believe no brake lights hence no detection of brake pedal switch allowing gear selection unlock.

I'd definitely be looking into everything the Big O(Big Oops?) did and expect compensation for the service and loss of family time expenses.

Big O? Sounds more like a strip club than a mechanic.

Probably electrical. May want to disconnect battery and reconnect. Then I'd replace every fuse in the fuse box.

Best advice I've always been given is never do major maintenance right before a long trip. Do it a week or 2 earlier in case something goes wrong. Luckily this happened at home versus somewhere far away from home with the family.

    IG1 or IG1 NO2 Fuses.

Use a meter to check them or just replace them with known good fuses
    .

    Visual checks are not trustworthy.
