I really can't stand touch-screen climate controls. My Buick dual-zone automatic climate control had both manual and touch screen control for every function.

I never used the touchscreen to select or adjust anything. View only. Just reach over and turn the knobs or press the buttons just under the screen to adjust the temp. (1 click of the knob either way was 1 degree) I normally had it set to 74 degrees. In auto mode it adjusted everything. The only time you really needed to fiddle with it was to select full defrost at times. It even had a humidity sensor up behind the mirror which would kick on the a/c compressor and send air to the windshield to clear the fog in high humidity conditions.

Since you're using CarPlay, is the music coming from your iPhone Music app? If so, are you still missing the artwork if you try playing Pandora or music through another app?

I couldn’t resist! Long ago I went to the digital dark side. Oddly enough my kids discovered my old Who, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Iron Butterfly, Joplin, Cat Steven’s and other albums and now have extensive vinyl collections!

I wish I had a picture of it, but the artwork displayed on my HU definitely doesn't match what is being played. Now, typically a different picture is displayed, but it is at least a photo of the correct artist.

I was listening to "News of the World" by Queen one day, and my HU displayed a picture of Queen Latifah... Definitely not the correct Queen...

I get generic “pop” or “world” or “electronic” pictures or nothing at all. And this is across all my cars that have this feature. And it’s inconsistent.

Never seen that my 2020 sr5 seemed like when I used blue tooth with my android phone the album art was sometimes there sometimes not no reason like driving or not.
Since I got the Carsifi wireless Android auto adapter nearly two years ago I mostly use that. That always seems to display album art if I use pandora. I hate commercials so I usually use Plex amp which is my own mp3 library. Plex seems to sometimes mismatch the art especially for old files I probably have had since Napster days that most likely have incomplete tags.

It's all first world problems.... I don't care as long as the music plays.

Now that's just downright blasphemy! You don't mess with the News! :infantry:

Not completely related, but a bit - when I rip older CDs I apparently have a "more original" copy. During the rip it tries to go out any auto name the songs along the way, but it may grab a newer release version. A few things I have will show different song titles or order compared to what is actually being played. At first I'm like "WTH, messed up HU?" then have to remember if it was ancient music .... like in the 80's lol

I've run into this a few times with ripping CDs. I have some old ones that I had since the 1980s too. I usually use Easy Audio Converter to make Flac and mp3 files. It usually comes up with a list of possible matches by release year you can pick from if there's multiple releases of the same album. You can also choose the correct cover art too.

I used Audiograbber to rip CDs back in the day when I used Windows. (I'm a Linux guy now....), but Audiograbber used to give you the option of querying an online database (CDDB) to get track info, and let you choose the correct one.

The app I use in windows does the same. But I've been looking at at tinkering with Ubuntu. What do you use on Linux? I'm probably going to ditch windows if I can find programs to use for every thing I do on my computer

I use Lubuntu and Cinnamon Mint. As far as what software? I use libreoffice for all my spreadsheet and writing stuff - it's compatible with MS Office. I use gnucash for finance, and usually VLC for playing media. A lot of stuff comes with a standard installation. I use Audacity for editing and recording sound. I have DOSBox installed for really old shit... I just won't succumb to software as a service, nor constant phoning home and tracking by Microsoft, so Linux and open source for me....

Not a gamer, and work gives me a laptop to do work things.... So I have no need for a Windows box.

An album is a collection of songs regardless of the media.

    real definition:

A set of musical recordings that are issued together, usually by a single artist.

Funny enough, for work i have a windows laptop and spend a huge chunk of my time in Linux. SSH Putty sessions.
I play a lot of games. If i could get away from windows, i certainly would.

I run a pi-hole to block most stuff outbound and ads. I also have a plex server i stream music from so my android phone with Graphene OS to stifle Google.
im 100% with you on hating Microsoft.

Apple isnt any better either. the pi-hole logs show all kinds of crap from them.

MS, then apple then google on this list all blocked. all of them suck.
