A-Trac and rear locker are exclusive to the TRD Off-Road model. You appear to have a TRD Sport.

Look into the "lo-trac" wiring mod which lets you engage on-pavement traction control in 4Low. It works about half as good as A-Trac, but is better than nothing.

If a single rear tire is slipping, you can help it a little by pressing the parking brake pedal a click or two. Release the parking brake after you had gone past the obstacle.

Looking at your avatar, your hood scoop tells me that you have a TRD Sport.

The TRD OffRoad package came with the A-TRAC. OEM position is below the A/C controls.

So sad because the rut was hardly anything really granted i was probably at like full flex and droop but still such a small obsticle.

A Trac should be standard i think.

How does auto lsd work in 4wd.
When in 2wd and i press the vsc button the auto lsd light up but not in 4wd.

Sport trim for seconds gens was the only choice that made any sense, they were the best looking and well equipped.

Hey folks this actually my first post on here after weeks of snooping. I have an 07 trd off road. When I turn the headlights on the atrac light illuminates on the dash (2H,4H, and 4Lo).I have no atrac button but I do have the stock locker switch. It’s been like this since I bought it last month.

    Has anybody else experienced this?

The electronic aids, A-Trac and Auto LSD / TRAC started in 2009. Yours must be an off-road, if you have the locker, but none of the Taco's in your year had A-Trac.

From what I’ve learned it’s a common misconception that the aids didn’t start until 2009. See this thread for more information. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/te...-trac-hac-dac-alsd-explained.html#post4388605

    Do you need my input?

*Sport TRDs have no additional traction systems than the standard models.

*4WD and lowering your tires air pressure, are you friends for more traction/ floatation.

*The Auto LSD is a 2WD 'stronger limited slip' (no engine regulation) than the standard TRAC. You press the VSC button quickly to activate AUTO LSD.

*In 4WD-HIGH, (2009-2011) you are in the stronger limited slip without pressing any button.
(This changed in 2012 with the creation of TRAC OFF in H4, requiring the button press).

*In 4WD-LOW you will have more power for steep climbs to crawl up or down, but there is no limited slip function in low range in the second gens (except for the Off Road TRD).

    Thanks for the info.

Do you have any input on what an atrac light is doing on my dash...only when I turn the headlights on?

This may need some further exploration.

IIRC buried in the factory service manual (FSM) (circa 2005-2006) are a few electrical wiring illustrations and diagnostic information for ATRAC. I need to dig a little more as there were some traction control and stability stuff that became standard on '09+ but could previously be had as options. And that light appearing on your dash may suggest that you actually have one of the options.

Otherwise, it begs for an answer as to how a 2007 got a functioning ATRAC light on the instrument cluster?

Just for fun, can you take a picture of you brake master cylinder unit in the engine compartment and post it here?
