Ok I did do a quick search and I'm not seeing any info out there on this, but I figured it's already well known and documented and that I'm just now discovering it. That being said, I'm still kind of shocked!! Yesterday was the first time it's really rained during the day since I got my truck and I noticed the headlights did not coming on automatically while the wipers were engaged. I thought that was pretty standard on any vehicle with automatic lights these days??

No auto headlights with wipers on my '13 Avalon Limited. My wife drives a '15 Yukon XL and I'm shocked at what each of the manufacturers get right and get wrong.

    Toyota
+ Super ultra extra HD rear view camera
    + HID headlights
    - Engine shut off after remote start
    - No auto wiper/lights
    - Radio turns on with remote start

    GMC
+ no engine shut off after remote start
    + auto wiper/lights
+ no radio on with remote start
    - halogen head lights
    - horrible rear view camera

That's pretty much the point I was trying to make as well. My 2005 Acura TL had more "technology" than some of the vehicles being made today that actually cost more than it did back in the day; I know this is turning into a gripe but as much money as their is in the automobile industry, you'd think some things would just be standard by now.

I have no auto on headlights at all, kind of glad about that personally though..

wipers not activating when you spray the cleaner is annoying. Only having 3 speeds is also annoying. But not enough I wanna pay ~$100 to get an intermittent switch. I'll just push the switch up once to clear the glass when needed.

I'm glad the lights are not auto in the dark like a lot of cars are these days....

But when I forget to turn the lights off, they go off on their own. Love this feature. I can have darkness at night when I want, but still don't have to worry about forgetting to turn off the lights when I'm using them. Best of both worlds imo..

No joke, my Honda Civic and my Ford Explorer has it. Actually, all of my Honda's / Acura's have so maybe it's just certain manufactures that do it. I figured by now that the government would have required it like they do everything else.

Do american 3rd gens have day time running lights yet?

We have zero vehicles do that in Canada because we have DRL's, which should be mandatory, not wiper auto headlights.

The TRDs have LED DRLs. Not sure if the other trim levels have halogen DRLs or not.

My wife's 2012 Chevy Cruze has auto headlights. It also has power driver's seat and remote start. As much as the Tacoma costs,it seems like they could have more options on them.

My SR has DRL. They are auto on and off when the light switch is turned to DRL. But I can also turn the lights completely off.

I've noticed some cars have a one-headlight-on feature. Especially now in winter with longer nights. I see some cars have only their right headlight on, and others only their left headlight on. What advantages does this feature offer?

I've seen some where they only have one headlight on if they are using their turn signal. I don't like it.

I see some with the no-headlights-on option. Especially early in the evening. Some have just their parking lights on. Does this option save on gas?

My lowly ol 2009 Pontiac has auto headlights when wipers are on.

I usually just turn the park lamps on in my taco. It keeps the LED DRLs lit
