I’ve seen a couple of reviews on the 2020 Tacoma in blue , but when I try to go to Toyota and build, blue is not and option.. any clues?

    Thanks

There is VooDoo Blue for 2020, I got one, call dealer and see what is coming in the allocation. maybe they can do Allocation swap?? That is what was done in my case, mine was a allocation swap from CA, I am in PA. Also Toyota is only running at 40% production at plant, since covid. Have to see at dealer to expand search, In my case I lucked out, I was waiting for allocation to dealer, then CA called my dealer, because they (CA) needed a Camry to close a deal, so dealers did Allocation swap, need info just ask me, It took a couple of months, ended up with delivery in December.

You need to change your zip code in the build & price tool. It will only show you available regional inventory (which for NC is SE Toyota, which is also a big shit show but that's for another thread).

Lots are empty because N American production was idled for nearly 2 months. That gap has caught up to dealers

Inventory is pretty low everywhere right now. More than likely there just isn't a blue Tacoma available right now. Like others have mentioned, change your zip code to something in TN or VA and you'll get different options. When I was searching for my 2020, LED headlights weren't listed as an option when I would try to use the builder on the Toyota website. I changed to a TN zip code and found several that matched my build. I ended up driving to TN to get mine. If you're in NC, check VA and TN and see what they have. You might find what you want and you get outside of Southeast Toyota. Win, win.

    Yeah dealers are wiped out.
My local dealer usually has a bunch of Tacomas (around 10) in the front to showcase and I drove by today and didn't see a single one. Ive been driving by there for the last 5 years and its the first time I haven't seen any Tacomas in the front.

Maybe they finished making the blue colors for the 2020 year.

^ That's correct, once Toyota completes running a specific color in a model year, that's it and no more.
I had the same issue when I was looking for a Inferno Orange TRD Sport in 2018 and ended up settling for a Silver Sky Silver Metallic.
As it turns out it worked out for the best as now every very time I see an inferno orange Tacoma I'm glad I got the silver.

Kind of related, Tacoma isn't like many vehicles/manufacturers in that when you special order one, Toyota is't building you a specific Tacoma to your color-combo and feature specification. Toyota is just assigning one that has already been built or scheduled to be built to you. If there are none in current Toyota inventory and no more such Tacomas scheduled to be built in the model year then you will not be able to special order such vehicle.

I wish you luck! Inventory everywhere around me is super low. Several of the bigger dealers do not have any preowned Tacomas either which is the first time that I can ever remember that happening.

I can't recall seeing a 2020 VooDoo blue Tacoma in person. You could try looking for a used 2019 Pro in that color. I'm surprised there are as many new vehicle buyers looking for new vehicles to buy. Looks like most new vehicle shoppers are not effected by trivial events.

I think it has to do with the stupid low intrest loans you can get right now. Inventory may be low but with the federal intrest rate being so low right now that means banks are able to take federal money and loan it out at very low intrest rate themselves. If you have the stability and financial means right now there is no better time to buy

Edit: the 11:40 mark is what I mean to say.

Just be aware production on 2021 models starts soon! I wouldn't rush into a 2020 at this point.
